 Objective: Students will review the analysis notes in the

reading packet by completing several review and analytical
activities.
Task #1- Put up photographs.

 Objective: What is analysis? How is it different from

summary? Students will learn the differences between
simple simply making judgements and actually making
inferences based on implicit observations.

 Objective # 2 : Students will learn the essentials of
“Move # 4” in the analysis packet by completing
handbook notes and referring to power point slide for
scaffolding information.
 Tasks:
 1. Review activities galore.

 Objective: Students will review the analysis notes in the reading

packet by completing several review and analytical activities.

 Objective: Students will take a district pre-assessment in order to

help teachers evaluate student reading and writing.
Task 1: Take assessment test.
Objective # 2: Students demonstrate understanding of the
analysis reading packet by writing an analysis on a topic of their
choice.
Task 1: Read updated rubric and essay instruction.
Task 2: Turn in Analysis handbook.
Task 3: Work on rough draft, pre-write, outline or brainstorm on
personal topic.
Task 4: Get chosen topics checked off.
Homework: Draft 1 of essay is due on Monday.

 Objective # 1: Students view a model for their summary/analysis

essay and learn how to organize paragraph structure.
Task 1: Take notes on paragraph structure.
Task 2 : Take notes on writing a claim with 5 parts.
Task 3: Take rough draft and organize into paragraph structure.
Task 4: Write a claim based on student’s topic of analysis.
Task 5: Write a pre-write based on your rough draft.
Homework: Bring an organized draft # 2 to class on Wednesday.
It should be different from what you brought to class today.
 Future File: Essay will be due next Tuesday for “A” day and
Monday for “B” Day.
 Start Dystopian literature unit on Wednesday.

 Objective # 1: Students will learn the correct format of





the essay which they turning in next Tuesday. (45)
Task 1: See example.
Task 2: Get stamps for claims, pre-writes and drafts.
Task 3: Writing conference with Mr. Crowley.
Task 4: Draft, check format, and have a peer read draft.
Task 5: The peer writes a note on top of explaining
what the subject that was analyzed. The student points
out one aspect of paper that they liked.
English 10: 9/23 & 25/15 “A” day
 Objective: Students continue to learn the denotation





of the Dystopian and Utopia in order to understand
the basic premise of our new literature unit.
Task 1: Take notes on definitions.
Task 2: Write acrostic poems.
Task 3: Listen to songs about utopian and dystopian
themes.
Task 4: Read Thomas More’s view on “Utopia”
Task 4: Complete activities related to songs.
