ST MARY’S RC PRIMARY SCHOOL
NEWSLETTER – MAY 2015
Dear Parents / Carers
Once again, your support of our CAFOD Lenten collection
has been wonderful with the final total standing at a
magnificent £1,400 which will be match-funded by the
government. We have sent a cheque to our CAFOD
representative who wishes to extend grateful thanks to you
all for your outstanding generosity.
The Year 2 pupils would like to extend their own special thanks to all
who supported their Bring and Buy Sale which made a wonderful
£198 (also to be match-funded) specifically for the CAFOD Nepal
Earthquake Appeal.
We are so proud to be called St. Mary’s and as May is the month of
Mary we have decided that this year’s festival day will be in celebration
of Mary, our patron saint. On Friday 22nd May the pupils can come to
school in non-uniform and the day will be filled with exciting
activities and talent shows to end this special month in style.
We welcome Miss Willerton, a student from Manchester
Metropolitan University who will be working alongside Mr. Cavanagh until the end
of June. We hope that her time at St. Mary’s will be enjoyable.
PTA news...
The PTA continues to work tirelessly for the benefit of our children. The most recent
events (coffee afternoon organised by Years 3 and 4 and the plant sale organised by
Mrs. Reed, mum of Matthew in Year 5) were most successful and we extend our thanks
to all those who organised, helped at and supported
these events.
We have recently spent PTA money on new IT tablets
and the pupils are really enjoying using them to further
their learning. Thank you so much!
We now look forward to our Summer Fayre on Friday
26th June. Look out for more details after the Whit
holiday.
