THE FIRST TEE OF NORTHWEST FLORIDA
MORE THAN A SPORTS PROGRAM FOR KIDS & TEENS
The mission of The First Tee of Northwest Florida is to positively impact the lives of young people by promoting
character development and life-enhancing values through the First Tee’s “Life Skills Learning Experience” and the
game of golf. The Mission is based on Nine Core Values: Honesty, Integrity, Sportsmanship, Respect, Confidence,
Responsibility, Perseverance, Courtesy, and Judgment.
Since the founding of our Local Chapter in 2003, we have worked to spread character education and junior golf to
the counties (Bay, Escambia, Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, and Walton) of the Florida Panhandle through 102 National
School Programs in area (K-5) schools and 15 Golf Course program sites.
Incorporating the Summer Tour of the Greater Pensacola Junior Golf Association and presenting the annual Divot
Derby Week (est. 1958), we strive in particular to reach young people who otherwise might not have an
opportunity to play the game of golf and to learn its inherent values. The First Tee of Northwest Florida (501c3) is
committed to growing the game while ensuring that our programs are accessible and affordable to youth of all
backgrounds, diversities, social strata and physical abilities, and always regardless of income or ability to pay.
