StarCraft II - HOTS Rules And Regulations 1 General 1.1 The tournaments main-judges are Amanda Hansen, Mira Eilertsen and Kim Thon. They will have the final word in all situations. Decisions made by the judges will over-rule the rules in this document. 1.2 We reserve the right to add, remove or change the rules in this document at all time without notice. We encourage you to read the rules periodically to make sure you follow the up to date rules. 1.3 By joining this tournament, all participants accept and agree to the rules, and that the judges decisions over-rule the rules in this document. 1.4 This year, The Gathering will be running two StarCraft II compos - 2v2 and 4v4 Monobattle. 2 StarCraft II: 2v2 Regulations 2.1 Each team will consist of 2 players. 2.2 Thee winner of a match will be the team winning two (2) or more maps. The winner will then proceed to the next round. 2.3 The tournament will be played as a single elimination bracket. 2.4 Race selection: Terran, Protoss, Zerg and Random are all allowed. 2.4.1 A player can only use the race the player choose when he registered for the tournament. The exception to this rule is when Random is chosen. A team can be a mix of races. It is not possible to change race during the tournament 2.5 The first map played will be Molten Crater, followed by Reflection and if necessary, Hunting Ground. In the final, all maps will be played if necessary. The full list of maps will consist of: 2.5.1 Map 1: Molten Crater 2.5.2 Map 2: Reflection 2.5.3 Map 3: Hunting Ground 2.5.4 Map 4: Overwatch 2.5.5 Map 5: The Boneyard 3 StarCraft II: 4v4 Monobattle Regulations 3.1 Each team consists of 4 players. 3.2 The tournament will be played as a single elimination bracket. 3.3 Each player will be given a random unit by the game. You must use the unit assigned by the game (i.e. you may not “re-roll”). 3.4 The one who set up the game is responsible for choosing Random on Unit Selection. If this is not done, the game must be reset. If you start the game without doing this, and the other team complains, the responsible team will be disqualified. 3.5 All players can choose race in the lobby. You have to choose random. This is visible for the other participants, and if any other team/player sees that anyone has forgotten to choose random on race, the team responsible for setting up the game has to be notified, and the game must be restarted. 3.6 The mod used is Day 9 Team Monobattles – Fossil Quarry. You will find this through Arcade in-game. You can ask any member of the Game Crew if you have any problems. 4 Rules 4.1 Each team must have one Captain, who will take responsibility for communication (reporting results and finding the next opponent) with admins and the opposing teams. 4.2 In-Game Channel: tg13compo2v2 (or) tg13compo4v4 will be used to find your next opponent. If your Captain has problems finding your next opponent, they must contact a tournament referee. 4.3 The team Captain must to send the match-results a tournament referee immediately after the winner of a match is determined. The results of your match will determine your next opponent, and after each win, you will be notified of the name of your next opponent. 4.4 The game has to be set to «Fullscreen mode». «Windowed (fullscreen)» or «Windowed mode» is not accepted. 4.5 Your status has to be set to «busy» during the tournament. 4.6 Spectators are not allowed with the exception of the game-admins. 4.7 All players have to save the replay of all matches played in the tournament. These replays will be the only form of proof accepted during disputes or rule-breaking. 4.8 If any issues arise (lag, disconnections, etc.) in the first 5 minutes, prior to any confrontation between the participants, the game must be restarted. 4.9 If one of the teams loses link and does not respond to the Game Admins, the opposing team will win on a walkover. 4.10 Maphacks, cheats and any 3rd-party programs or software that would give the player an unfair advantage are strictly forbidden. 4.11 Communicating with people other than your teammates or the opposing team will be considered cheating. 4.12 All keybinds can only be set inside StarCraft 2 (3rd-party software is not allowed). 4.13 All players must be polite to the Game Admins and must always respect any rule-changes. (Complaints can be filed to the Game Crew at the Game desk.) 4.14 We recommend the contestants be ready to play at least 30 minutes before each match. 4.15 Poor behaviour toward other players or/and Game Admins may lead to a disqualification from the tournament. 4.16 No players are allowed to watch the opponents screen at any time during a tournament-match. If you notice this happening, please contact a Game Admin.
