Cutts [email protected] Sports Funding Statement: 2016-2017 From September 2013 the Government allocated funding directly to primary schools to support the provision of high quality PE/Sport. Each school will receive £7535.00 plus an extra £5 per pupil for those aged 5yrs and above this will continue for the foreseeable future. Principles To hire specialist PE teachers or qualified sports coaches to work alongside our teachers when teaching PE to increase their professional knowledge, skills and confidence when teaching sport. To improve the quality and quantity of materials for PE/sport in our school To increase the provision of places and clubs for pupils outside school hours To increase the professional development opportunities in PE/sport for all our teachers which might include providing cover to release primary teachers for professional development in PE/sport Increased access and participation in sport competitions and in the school games, particularly within the Cluster group of local schools Provision Amount to be received: £8,516 for April 2016 to August 2017. Over the course of the year the Senior Leadership Team, PE Coordinator and sports coaches will monitor the impact of the funding on the above aims. The funding decisions are based on the Ofsted Report ‘Beyond 2012 – outstanding physical education for all’. Current plans include (this may alter to meet need following regular analysis to ensure impact): Sports Coaching from two specialised coaches Coach Craig McFadyen delivers sports sessions for all pupils every week to include rugby, cricket, football and various other activities. Coach Rob delivers a weekly coaching session to include multi-skills, golf and gymnastics. Lunchtime multi skills CPD for Play Leader and teaching for all pupils. Purchasing of PE and outdoor equipment. CPD for Staff - liaison with HT and PE Coordinator CPD for all staff from specialised coaching, Primary Link Teacher meetings and curriculum development support for PE coordinator Support our School and the Cluster in developing and enhancing sport - liaison with HT and PE Leader and others in the cluster - Bridlington Sports Partnership Based around core sports in KS1 and KS2 with a particular emphasis on tournaments, leagues and competition within the cluster 10 cluster schools come together and use current expertise and develop primary link leaders Schools each donate £2000 to plan and resource a calendar of events and festivals for both KS1 and 2 over the year. Activities include sports hall athletics, cross country, mini golf festivals, rounders, netball and kwik cricket etc. Participation in a football league organised and run by South Holderness Technology College staff on the 3G pitch Cost of coaches to transport pupils to all games/competitions
