TEAM CAPTAIN CHECKLIST

Register at http://www.stjude.org/walkrun as a team captain and set your fundraising goal.












Set up your Team fundraising page by adding a photo and personal message, as well as your
Personal Page, available in your Fundraiser Center.
Donate. Get a head start on reaching your fundraising goal by making a personal donation. This can be
done at the time of registration or after you register.
Contact your Team Fundraising Coach. Each team captain has a St. Jude Fundraising Coach to
help you recruit team members and hit your fundraising goal. Don’t be shy – contact them right away
for tips and tricks to get started.
Recruit team members. Display Walk/Run posters around the office, campus, cafeterias, break
rooms, gyms, and other high traffic areas. Include your name and contact information so co-workers,
friend & family can easily sign up. You can also send out a recruitment email from your Fundraiser
Center and post to Facebook or Twitter.
Fundraise. Encourage your team members to set and reach their own fundraising goals by sending out
fundraising tips and creating incentives for top performers.
Attend the Coaches’ Party - an event specifically for team captains to kick off Walk season!
Track your progress. Post a progress chart with your fundraising and recruitment goals in a visible
area in your office, or send a regular email updating everyone.
Use incentives and contests. Use incentives and contests provided by your National Team Captain or
create your own for your team members.
Stay in touch. Remind team members to utilize Fundraiser Center to update their Personal Page, send
e-mails and keep track of the donations they raise.
Make a donation drop. Drop off any donations you have collected the Saturday before the Walk/Run
to ensure speedy check-in on Event Day. Details will come from your Fundraising Coach.
Enjoy Event Day. Gather the family, friends and co-workers and head out for a day filled of fun,
laughter and inspiration!
Celebrate your success. Celebrate the impact you are making on the kids at St. Jude by attending our
thank you celebration. Details will come from your Fundraising Coach.

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS: CREATE A TEAM

Visit www.stjude.org/walkrun and click “Register.”

Select your city of choice from the list of walk markets and
click “Register.”

Select your team option – START A TEAM.

Create or access your St. Jude fundraising profile.
o If you are a “Returning User,” enter your username and
password from last year.
 Forgot your information? Click “Email me my
login information” and enter email address
o If you’re not a returning user, select “New User.”

If you are a returning user, you might be prompted to bring
back a team from a prior year.
o If so, click “Bring Back [Team Name].”

To start a team as the team captain:
o Enter your team name and team fundraising goal.
o To affiliate your team with a National Team, select the
team from the National Team dropdown menu.
o Select your team type.
o Enter Discount Code: SILVER

Select your participation option.
o Set a fundraising goal.
o If interested, make a donation toward your fundraising
goal.

Fill out your Contact Information.
o Enter your personal information.
o If you are a “New User,” create a username and
password.
o Answer additional questions.

Review and agree to the Terms of Agreement.

Verify and complete your registration.
o To register a family member, “Register a family
member” and repeat the registration process.

If applicable, complete billing information and process
payment.

Congratulations, you’re now registered! Take a moment
and review your Fundraiser Center - your fundraising
headquarters! Here you can personalize you website page,
send emails and fundraise through Facebook.
