Assistant Coach – National Ability Center Ski Team
Job Summary
Assists the Head Coach in all aspects of managing and coaching the NAC
Ski Team. A primary function of this and every other job at the National
Ability Center is to ensure that each member, guest and visitor of NAC
receives the highest caliber of service.

Program Manager/Head Coach Alpine Ski Team (Head Coach)
1. Work with Head Coach and Program Director to plan and develop
programming and projects that are in line with the NAC Mission and
the strategic plan.
2. Develop and deliver individual conditioning and training programs,
designed to meet USADA and NAC requirements and conform with
NAC guidelines.
3. Work with Head Coach in the management of training and
competition schedules of team and individual athletes.
4. Conduct athlete training sessions on and off the hill.
5. Provide video and biomechanical analysis of training sessions.
6. Assist in development and implementation of sport specific risk
management plan.
7. Assist with team and individual registration for competitions and
travel arrangements for all athletes.
8. Represent the NAC and NAC athletes at competitions as needed.
9. Identify and communicate to Head Coach equipment needs for
athletes.
10. Support Head Coach and Program Resources Manager in the
maintenance of program equipment and inventory, including notes
about condition.
11. Maintain program equipment wish list and update regularly.
12. Support athletes with ski maintenance and race preparation as needed.
13. Work with Head Coach to manage recovery and regeneration
programs for each athlete.
14. Track and report statistics and outcomes for the Alpine Ski Team.
15. Support developing and emerging athlete projects for NAC and guest
athletes and coaches as needed.
16. Support program and project activities for groups and individuals as
needed, eg. Ski Spectacular, Paralympic Outreach Camps. Paralympic
Sports Camps and Military Retreats.
17. Works with Volunteer coordinator to recruit and train volunteers for
Team.
18. Work with the Development Team in identifying, applying for, and
stewardship of, funding.

19. Promote NAC Programs, educate industry, and generate exposure for
NAC Ski program at special events, public speaking events, trainings,
etc.
20. Implement and supervise safety/risk management protocols in a
caring and fun environment for participants, volunteers and staff.
21. Create a nurturing, positive and professional environment while
promoting program policies and procedures amongst staff, volunteers
and community.
22. Commit to continuing education in your field utilizing internal and
external resources to ensure our programs sustain continual
responsiveness and improvement.
23. Comply with National Ability Center safety and health policies and
procedures.
24. Attend required staff meetings and trainings.
25. All other duties as specified.
1. Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience
2. Minimum USSA Level 100 Coaching Certification and/or PSIA
Certification
3. Minimum two years coaching at the FIS and/or club level.
4. Current Emergency First Responder certification.
5. Experience with athletes with disabilities.
6. Familiarity with sports equipment and modifications needed for
athletes with disabilities.
7. Knowledge and experience in all aspects of ski maintenance and race
preparation.
8. Knowledge of mental training, nutritional counseling and physical
conditioning.
9. Valid Driver’s License; must verify own auto insurance.

Monthly $2000-3500
Seasonal
30-40 Hours/week, some Weekends and Evenings required.
