four awards of up to £2,000 in prize money, as well as advice for
your business, a prestigious Leeds business address and
support from professional business organisations.
What is the Leeds Victoria Business Boost 2016?
Leeds Beckett University have partnered with Hammerson to offer a unique opportunity for
budding entrepreneurs to set up in business.
Hammerson are a retail property company specialising in prime locations. Their prestigious
locations include the Victoria Quarter and the new Victoria Gate development opening in
Leeds later this year.
We are supporting innovative and exciting new business ideas. Our Leeds Victoria Business
Boost competition offers the opportunity to win prize money along with a host of support for
your start-up business idea.
Successful applicants will be invited to pitch their business ideas to a panel of business
experts, comprising of senior figures from Hammerson, Leeds Beckett University, Microsoft
and WGN.
We are offering four prize awards: £2,000, £1,000 and two runner up prizes of £500 each.
The winners will also receive:

A half-hour business growth diagnostic to better understand and support their business.

One year’s free membership of the W & N Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce (worth
£250).

Accountancy and tax support worth £1,000 from WGN Chartered Accountants.

Membership to the Institute of Director’s 99 Club (terms and conditions apply).

Six months free registered business address plus mail forwarding at the Enterprise and
Innovation Hub.

Award winners photos and a brief PR Profile.
Eligibility criteria
This competition is open to West Yorkshire residents or West Yorkshire based businesses who
are wanting to set up and grow a business or in their first 18 months of trading.
How do I apply?
Please complete the form below and submit your application to [email protected]
by 28 October 2016.
Shortlisted applicants will then be asked to attend a pitching workshop on 9 November 2016
and give a 10 minute presentation on their business to a panel on 17 November 2016.
Awards will then be made and business support will commence from 1 December 2016.
Winners are requested to attend the formal presentation of awards on 18 January 2017.
