From Clarks for SS10, something to put every pair of ‘Growing feet in safe hands’
Already the world’s best known name in children’s footwear, Clarks’ reputation for putting ‘Growing feet in safe
hands’ continues to evolve with the launch of their new collection for spring summer 2010. From First Shoes
uniquely designed for each of the three key stages of walking development to infant shoes; from school shoes to
classic sandals in canvas and leather, beach and fun shoes, it’s a selection that brings real meaning to something
for everyone.
First Shoes have all the Clarks’ features tried and trusted by parents. They come in whole and half sizes and
they’re available in a range of width fittings. They have growing room built in. And they’re fitted by Clarks trained
experts.
First Shoes for crawling, for example, are lightweight with toe-grip and textured
soles and not only help to make crawling easier and more fun, they also protect
tiny toes from life’s little knocks and bumps. Styles include the enchanting
Summer Sparkle, a girls’ shoe that’s as pretty as a picture in soft, white leather.
First Shoes for cruising - the stage when a child pulls themselves up into a
standing position and lets mum and dad know they’re ready to start moving with
a little support – are designed to give baby confidence. They have an ultraflexible sole and offer support, as well as all-round grip, to encourage balance as
walking skills develop. Styles available include Scarlett Summer, an ankle high
girls’ shoe available in white or hot pink leather complemented by dainty cutouts, and All Aboard, a boys’ shoe available in supersoft, two-tone brown leather
with a buckle and strap fastening. Also for boys at the cruising stage is Mini Fun
2, an eye-catching combination of white and navy leather complete with Velcro
fastening and delightful animal detailing.

Finally, First Shoes for walking are lightweight and flexible, with close-cropped
soles that help prevent tripping and a padded ankle collar that gives protection
and support. For girls at this stage in their walking development, styles include
Pollypetal - a fresh take on the classic t-bar available in either hot pink or white
leather - and Hazy Rona, a three strap, high-cut sandal in smoky brown leather.
For boys, meanwhile, the choice includes Plane Puzzle in brown combi leather
and Dune Puzzle, which offers all the tried and trusted benefits of a First Shoes
walking shoe but in a stylish, twin-strapped summer sandal.

inspired sandal that comes in a choice of stone or denim blue leather. It has a toe bumper, Velcro fastening

Following on from the last year’s successful launch of Planet Racers, Clarks are adding to the on-going
appeal of their Yotoy collection with the introduction of two new racers hidden in the heel - one from the
planet Dred and one from Raymagon. It’s Clarks fit with the fun built in to Solar Sun, a two strapped, Velcro
fastening sandal that comes in a combination of tan and brown leather, and Solar Trail, a sports style with a
layered and panelled upper in grey green synthetic with bright green colour pops.

Finally, so older boys don’t miss out on the theme of maximum style in miniature, Minifeet takes a
contemporary grown-up profile, adds a wraparound sole and chunky laces. The result, available in denim
blue leather or tan, is a totally new, totally cool look for infants and juniors.
For girls
As with the boys, for spring summer 2010 more and more girls’ styles are featuring Active Air for maximum
comfort underfoot. Rio Star, for example, comes in a choice of either white or caramel coloured leather and
is available in infant and junior sizes. Open-toed and with a double adjust fastening, this is a versatile sandal
that feels good and looks good with any number of summer outfits. Also for infants and juniors is Rio Chic.
In eye-catching hot pink or red leather, two broad straps and chunky buckles complete the picture of the

To complement the choice of girls’ summer sandals there are light, bright summer shoes

feminine crossover straps and red flower decal on a soft, white leather upper.
