Educational Philosophy Tracie Harder

Our classroom motto:
Fair is not everyone
getting the same thing,
but it is everyone getting
what they need to be
successful.
 Fair, consistent, caring,
and fun – adjectives that
describe my learning
environment.
 Students who know
expectations and
boundaries are less likely
to find themselves
disappointed.

I believe in taking the
time to really listen to
my students.
One of my favorite
parts of the day is our
conversation time. The
relaxed atmosphere
invites all students to
participate.
There is never a wrong
answer, but sometimes
a guided response that
leads to a correct
answer.



Respect that is given to
others is given back
naturally and with a
smile.
Students who feel
valued, important, and
included are willing to
take educational risks
and expand their
learning.
Creating that ‘bond’
takes time, but it is
time well spent when
shaping a future.


When little minds begin
to build the
foundations of
knowledge, they must
touch, see, and
experience.
Math is best learned
hands-on with
manipulatives and
making real life
connections that form
lasting meaning for
students.

Guided reading with
differentiated
instruction ensures
that all students
progress at a speed
that is their own.
Success is measured
over time and
celebrated daily.
Positive reinforcement
is the strongest
intrinsic motivator for
young learners.
Expanding horizons
begins with literature,
I believe a good book
can spark interest in
young minds.
 Opening doors to the
future includes a solid
foundation in
technology. Kids love
the computer and are
not afraid to jump right
in and get wet.

My teaching philosophy is based on the
positive interactions and real life
experiences I share with my students
everyday. How we interact with one another
determines our relationship. I know my job is
to teach and guide, but it is also to care,
share, feel and love. My students become a
part of me for more than the nine months we
share, I hope to leave a fingerprint on their
lives and help shape their future in some
small way.
