St Berteline’s C of E Primary School Runcorn Schools Football League St Bert’s carried on their dominant form in the Runcorn Football League with an impressive 3 – 1 win over St Mary’s. This proved to be St Bert’s toughest match of the season against a talented and well organised St Mary’s team. Although having the greater share of possession in the first half, St Bert’s were unable to convert several chances. After reassurance that changes will come in the second half, St Bert’s raced into a 2 – 0 lead. Having a two goal lead, St Bert’s could enjoy a more relaxed approach to the game. A further goal followed before St Mary’s grabbed a deserved consolation goal. Jack enjoyed his most confident display in goal and Sam put in a man of the match performance at the back. Logan supported Sam with confidence and Fenton and Michael impressed in midfield. Joe scored a couple of excellent goals and Matthew and Zach proved to be a constant threat upfront. Mackinlay came on in midfield and worked tirelessly throughout. St Bert’s sit comfortably at the top of the table with three games remaining.
