Tournament Format
10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, 18U Pool Play will determine seeding. Tournament Director reserves the right to seed
teams based upon previously submitted level of play information and based upon number of entries within each
age group.
Teams will go into Gold, Silver, and Bronze Division Brackets.
There will be 1 umpire for pool play games in 10U and 12U games
First, second, and third place medals will be awarded in Gold, Silver and Bronze Brackets (if applicable) in the
10, 12, 14, 16, and 18 U Divisions.
Rules
1. ASA rules apply unless otherwise noted.
2. Teams not present at their scheduled times will be considered a forfeit (Unless team is playing another
game). Please be ready to play 15 minutes before your scheduled game time. We will start your game as
early as possible. Forfeit score will 7-0.
3. Time limit for all age groups is 1 hour and 15 minutes from the last out. 14U, 16U, 18U play 7 innings,
10U/12U will play 6 innings. No extra innings in case of tie during pool play games, ties will count.
International tie breaker rules will be used in case of tie during bracketed games. Last batted out is the
runner on second. There will be no time limit for the championship games.
4. There will be a 15 run rule after 3 innings and 8 runs after 5 innings. Run rules will apply for
championship games.
5. No game protests. Any protested call will stop the game and be settled by the tournament director or
umpire in chief if he is at that ballpark (Scott Campbell).

No pre-game practice on infield. There are batting cages and warm-up areas University Fields. These
areas will be available on a first come first serve basis.
7. First inning, pitchers get 5 warm up pitches and infielders and outfielders get warm up balls. Every
inning thereafter, 3 warm up pitches and no warm up balls.
8. Teams will bat 9 players with a possible DP/Flex or you may bat your entire line up, if you choose to bat
your entire line up you may not drop any one out of the line up except for injury. Their spot in the order
will be skipped with no penalty unless you are left with 8 players. There will be an automatic out for the
missing player until another player arrives and can be inserted into the spot of the missing player. If your
team starts the game short 1 player it must be listed in the 9 spot in the batting order. If batting the entire
line up, defensively you may have free substitution. You may not change after the first pitch is thrown.
Pinch runner for the pitcher or catcher is the last batted out if you bat the entire line up. Teams must
have a minimum of 8 players to play.
9. This is a rain or shine tournament. The tournament director reserves the right to adjust the game
schedule, and game length depending on the circumstances.
10. Please remember good sportsmanship and cheer loudly and positively for your team.
11. No collisions; Runners must avoid contact with the defensive player by sliding on close plays. Base
runners will be called out and may be ejected from the game by the umpire. Fielders may not block
the path of a base runner without control of the ball. There may be inadvertent collisions with no penalty
to either player.
12. In case of tie records in pool play, tie breaker as follows; head to head, least runs allowed to common
opponent, least runs allowed total, run differential, coin flip.
10U SPECIFIC RULES
11” ball, 35’ pitching distance
6 runs max per inning. Unlimited in last inning.
Stealing allowed after the ball crosses the plate (one base only).
Bunting is allowed.
Pitchers may pitch unlimited innings.
No stealing home. Runners on third are not allowed to come home on throws to second by catcher.
You may only score on an overthrow if the ball has been put in play by the batter.
No running to first base on a dropped third strike.
You may use 10 players in the field provided 4 are in the outfield.
Coach pitch on the 5th walk per inning. Coaches will pitch to their own players. Player must hit or strike
out on coach pitch. No stealing or bunting on coach pitch.
In cases of catcher interference and hit by pitch, the batter will be allowed first base.
Infield fly rule in effect.
6 inning games. Time limit is 1 hr. and 20 min.
You must bat your entire line-up
Batters are not allowed to advance to 2nd on a walk.
All other rules per ASA.
Carry-ins and Seating
There will be a full concession stands with reasonable prices. All proceeds will benefit Eau Claire Fastpitch
Softball. Please no carry-ins in the parks or in the parking lots.
We do have limited bleacher seating, but we do recommend bringing your own chairs. The dugouts at
University Fields are not covered. You may want to bring tents or tarps.
