Spring Term 2017 After School Clubs Day Monday Year groups Activity Chess 3 to 6 Chess club is for those children who can already play chess, but would like to improve their skills. Playing chess improves critical thinking and logical reasoning, as well as Improving problem solving, concentration and numeracy. Turkish Culture and Language 3 to 6 The Turkish Embassy run a ‘Turkish Language and Culture’ club for children who have a basic understanding of the Turkish language. Not for non-Turkish speakers. Mad Science 4 to 6 Mad science workshops are an age appropriate, exciting innovative way to enrich science. Multi Skills Reception Children take part in a variety of group play and team building exercises. Music 1&2 The club is designed to engage children’s natural love of songs, instruments, movement, and imaginative play with ageappropriate activities that introduce early music concepts. Arts & Crafts 3&4 Creative activities using a variety of materials, enhancing the creative and fine motor skills of the children. Football 5&6 The aim of this club is to provide a fun session of football, building on listening and motor skills. Drama 1&2 An opportunity for children to tell stories through drama games and performance. This will be good for developing confidence, co-operative and creative skills. Cookery 2&3 The aim of the club is to introduce children to cooking techniques and healthy meal options that they can easily create themselves. Fencing 4 to 6 Fencing is a fun safe sport for all boys and girls. It does not only help improve fitness and physical ability, it also helps improve concentration, self-discipline, problem solving, courtesy, decision making, confidence and listening skills to name but a few. Music 0Reception Arts & Crafts 1&2 Creative activities using a variety of materials, enhancing the creative and fine motor skills of the children. Gymnastics 1 to 3 This fun gymnastics class is for boys and girls of all abilities using an array of equipment as well as games and team activities. The aim is to develop their co-ordination, strength, flexibility and confidence. Board Games 3&4 Children will have fun playing a variety of board and card games. Cycling 3&4 The aim of the 6 week course is to teach children basic cycling skills in preparation for more formal cycle training when they get to Year 5. If your child does not have their own bike we can provide one, however, we have a limited number of bikes to use. Code 5&6 Children will learn how to set up codes using a computer programme called Scratch to create games and animations. Football 1&2 The aim of this club is to provide a fun session of football, building on listening and motor skills.
