The West Virginia Association of Sanitarians wants to recognize Individuals and Organizations who by
their actions have improved the Environmental Quality of life of the citizens of their jurisdiction by doing an
outstanding job and being a good example to all Sanitarians.
The Categories of Awards are:
The Steve Bayer Award is given to a Sanitarian who works in Environmental Health and whose actions go
above and beyond the norm to improve Environmental Health and promote the Environmental Health
Profession. (One given per year)
Recognition Award is given to those sanitarians who their peers feel are doing an exceptional job in their program or
deserve extra recognition for their actions. (Several may be given)
Citizen Award is given to an individual or organization in the community that the Sanitarian feels is improving
the Public Health through their actions. (Several may be given)
