Club Fields Ownership
Fields belong to Old Parks Sports Club and need to be respected.
Should players require to get changed they should get changed in the change rooms rather than
on the side of a field. If you see a player damaging facilities or equipment correct the player.
Players need to be ready to start training at the correct time. Players arriving late need to report to
the coach before starting training. Parents and club officials must stay off the training field and not
disturb team training. Should a parent or club official, committee members included need to speak
to any player they should first request permission from the coach before disturbing the session.
Club Fields Usage
Outside of football season, when fields are used, goalposts should be moved off the fields to the
sides. Coaches are not permitted to do sprint; ladder or high intensity works in the box area.
Running and sprint sessions should be done off the playing field if possible. Teams must stay off
the cricket pitches completely. Kids should not swing on goals as they can get hurt easily. Coaches
must also rotate areas where shooting is done.
Team Selections
Only players who are registered can be selected to play in a game. Ongoing player monitoring
throughout season. Before any player movements “up or down”, affected team coaches to interact
with each other (no “higher team entitlement”). Should you wish to drop a player make sure you
communicate properly with the player, explaining why the player is getting dropped and what the
player needs to do to improve. New players at the Club to start from “Top Down”.
Do not drop players via email.
Player Match Time
Club Policy:
ALL Little League players to play minimum half a game. (Exceptions would apply
where players are injured or visibly tired, there is a discipline issue, player have not attended
training sessions or have not arrived at a match after having had confirmed availability and not
attended)
Club training kit and Match Kit Policy
“No Current Kit No Play!” no exceptions. Players are not to train wearing current Club Match Kit.
Players must wear the new training kit for training.
Club “No Alcohol” Policy
No Alcohol is to be consumed at any time o n any of the Club fields (i.e. during training sessions,
matches and/or tournaments. No exceptions. Any Coaches transgressing this Club Policy will be
removed.
Club Equipment
Equipment is costly! All coaches are fully responsible for Club Equipment issued to them.
Equipment lost and/or damaged will be replaced (or paid for) by coaches such equipment was
issued to. Each team will receive footballs, equipment carry bag, cones and bibbs.
Common sense to be applied: footballs only used on grass and not to be sat on by players, cones
not to be “stomped on”, equipment carry bag to be “carried” using its straps not the strings etc.
Use players to collect all equipment not being used after each “training exercise”. Only take out
equipment to use as you need it (i.e. don’t tip out all equipment onto the field). Coach’s final
payment will be held back until club equipment is returned. Coaches are not to borrow equipment
to any players. In Little League each age group has a unique design of ball. The section is spending
roughly 28% of our turnover on equipment.
Club Training Days and Times
All coaches are to ensure that allocated Club training “days and times” take place as scheduled.
As soon as allocated training session times are finished, coaches are to ensure that players move off
their fields so that later sessions can commence promptly. Additional training sessions where
possible, may be set-up by prior arrangement.
Coaches need to try be on the training field 15 minutes before training starts.
Coaches should dress appropriately for training.
Players need to be ready to start training at the correct time.
No parents are allowed to interfere and chat with coaches during training. The only time a parent
should come onto the field is in an emergency.
Waterbottles will be provided for each team and players should not be running to the bar or to
parents for drinks.
All players should where their training tops for training. A fun forfeit should be brought in if a child
forgets his training top.
Any player arriving late must first report to the coach before starting training.
Coaches need to refrain from talking on their cell phones unless it is an emergency.
Please instruct all parents not to walk through your training session or other coaches training
sessions.
Reporting System
Coaches need to send through their squad for a weekend match on a Friday and need to send
through the result on a Monday morning to their convenor and the D.O.C.
Any serious incident requiring action from the committee requires reporting to the D.O.C within 48
hours of the incident. The club need to find conclusion within a week.
Parent Coach Interactions
Not before training sessions, as Coaches should be “laying-out” their training exercises.
Should take place after training sessions (or other times), after all equipment has been collected
No confrontational discussions in full view of members. Do not fight with parents on public forums
like whatsapp or copy other parents in email wars.
Match Times and Fields
To be adhered to strictly! Where deviations are required, these are to be arranged with the Club (i.e.
Field bookings to be made with the D.O.C with atleast 72 hours notice.)
Match days
Please confirm availability of players by a Wednesday.
All Little League teams need to report to a venue a min of 30 minutes before kick off.
All Junior League teams need to report to a venue a min of 45 minutes before kick off.
Once parents have dropped players at the venue parents must leave players and coaches alone.
Coaches must ensure the following equipment is brought to matches.

Warm up balls

Match ball

Bibbs

Cones

WaterBottles

Whistle

Players Cards
Parents must stay away from all teamtalks,
No unpaid or un-registered player is allowed to play in any official fixture.
Should coaches be aware they going to be short for a match, try get back up by loaning a player
from another Old Parks Team that is applicable.
Do not go to games short of players.
Results should not override standards and discipline. Players who simply arrive late or miss trainings
should not play in the place of players applying themselves.
If you select a player for a squad for a match you must play the player. For any player to come and
train twice a week and not play is unacceptable.
