Have Fun! Remember Turkey Ball is a charity tournament.
Bases will be run in opposite order.
Example:
When a batter hits the ball he/she must run to third
base then second base then first base then home.
If batter mistakenly starts to run to first base after the ball is hit and
passes the chalked line in front of home plate he/she must retouch
home plate and then proceed to third base.
It is recommended that teams play with five female and five male
players on defense and on offense but co-ed rules will not be
enforced. An equalization rule may apply for teams with all male
players. The equalization will be the same as the international tiebreaker; the last legal batter in the preceding inning shall be placed
on second base to begin the next inning for the duration of the
game.
On offense, a team may have unlimited number of batters.
A batter will start with a 1-1 count. A walk will be awarded when
the ball count equals four. An out will be awarded when the strike
count equals three.
A strike will be called if the ball flies directly over home plate. If any part of the
pitched ball hits the plate or plate extender, the pitch will be declared a strike.
There will be a time limit of 40 minutes or seven innings completed.
Run rule; Youth Division or when an adult team plays a youth team:
Following the end of a play, after the run that puts a team ahead by six has scored,
the inning is over. It is possible to go ahead by more than six runs if additional
runners score behind the sixth run, prior to the end of the play.
Mush Ball 16” Rules
1.
The official diamond of the field will have baselines of 55 feet. Pitching distance
will be 40 feet.
2.
The batter is out if he/she has two strikes.
3.
If the batter hits one foul ball after one strike, he/she is out and the ball is dead.
4.
Base stealing is not permitted. However, a base runner shall be permitted to lead
off at anytime, but is subject to being thrown out. If a pick-off is made on a runner
at any base by catcher or pitcher, he may advance only to the next unoccupied
base at his own risk. Home plate is considered occupied by the hitter. Stealing
home is not permitted.
5.
Mercy rule is implemented in a game after five innings and one team is ahead by
10 runs.
