Tryouts Loudoun Soccer Coaching Staff oversee tryouts Families MUST pre-register for tryouts Only HEAD COACHES, Loudoun Professional Technical Staff, or otherwise approved staff serve as tryout evaluators It is an open, competitive tryout for ALL players Rosters “re-set” each year Players are selected by ability to the Red, Black, White, Silver, & Gray teams Typical Tryout Structure 10-15 minute group warm up – players with ball 45 minutes – Small Sided Games 30 minutes – Larger Sided Games (as space allows) Additional Tryouts may be held as needed Any player can tryout for Loudoun Soccer: From current Travel Program From Recreation Program Play ups from current Rec/Travel Program Players from outside Club Player Identification What we look for in players: Technical Ability Vision and Decision-Making Speed and Athleticism Character/Positive Attitude Defend/Attack transition Coachable Work Ethic Impact in the game Tryout Structure Coaches used 12 month body of work for our current Loudoun Soccer Travel Players in order to place them on appropriate fields at 1st tryout 1st tryout - Used to Quickly identify outside players (from LS Rec or other Rec/Travel programs) to place on appropriate tryout field with our players for assessment. After 1st tryout: coaches WILL begin to extend offers to families. All players should still attend 2nd tryout After 2nd tryout: Start to extend invite to other players Tryout Structure We have strict 24 hour decision policy. If a player needs more than 24 hours, then we pass and move to the next player. Example – call 7pm Monday - give until 7pm Tuesday. If you have not heard back by then, the Club is moving on to next player on list. Goal is to have age group teams complete within 72 hours of final tryout. Players from outside our current Travel teams who do not make it will be emailed by Age Group Head coach. Players from current travel team who do not make any team must be called in person.
