 These are higher education opportunity program at
the CUNY colleges.
 It was established to provide comprehensive academic
support to assist capable students who otherwise
might not be able to attend college due to their
educational and financial circumstances.
 The SEEK Educational Program - four year schools
 The College Discovery (CD) Educational Program – two
year schools
Deadlines for CUNY Application Submission:
 Online CUNY application must be submitted no later than
February 1st!
 *****CUNY application WILL NOT be processed until a
payment is received!!!!
 Payment Options:
 CUNY Fee-Waiver (Limited supply-Must bring parent income verification:
2013 Federal Tax return or Budget Letter)
OR
 Check/Money order in the amount of $65.00 written out to General
Freshman Admission CUNY/UAPC (sent out via us postal )
OR
 Online Credit Card payment of $65.00 (Total for ALL 6 schools)-Received
immediately

What is EOP?
 The State University of New York's (SUNY)
Educational Opportunity Program provides access,
academic support and financial aid to students who
show promise for succeeding in college but who may
not have otherwise been offered admission.
 Available
primarily to full-time, matriculated
students, the program supports students throughout
their college careers within the University.
Helpful Tips for SUNY Applications
 Pay Your Application Fee
There is a non-refundable application fee of $50 per
campus selection.
Submit Your Supplemental Applications.
 In addition to your online application, some campuses
may require or recommend supplemental application,
which may include an essay question. You will be
directed to return to apply SUNY to complete those
supplemental applications.
Privates
 Two ways to apply to private colleges:
1)Completing individual college application through college

What is HEOP?
 The Higher Education Opportunity Program is a
partnership between the State of New York and its
independent, PRIVATE colleges which provides
economically and educationally disadvantaged
residents the possibility of a college education.
 There are 58 HEOP programs throughout New York
State!!!!

ELIGIBILITY
 A State resident for 12 months prior to enrollment;
 Require special admissions consideration: your GPA & SAT
scores must be within a certain range.
 You must qualify as economically disadvantaged according
to the guidelines.
 In selecting students for the program, priority is given to
applicants from historically disadvantaged backgrounds.
 Note: Applicants deemed ineligible for these programs
may still qualify for admission and financial aid
through other admission processes.

 1. Meet with your College Advisor before submitting
your CUNY/SUNY/Common Application!!!!
 If you make an error it is difficult to correct
 2. Must send SAT scores to schools directly through
College Board: www.collegeboard.org

 SUNY & Private are directly to each individual school
 3. Print out a copy for your records and your college file
 4. Stay Organized!!!
 5. When in doubt…ask for help!!
