The Yankees’ 18 spring wins match their highest total since 2010 (18-12-3 in 2012)…their highest win total over the

YESTERDAY’S NEWS: On Tuesday, the Yankees fell to the Red Sox, 4-2, in Tampa…RHP Bryan Mitchell started and did not
record a decision, allowing 2ER in 4.1IP (7H, 0BB, 7K, 1HR)…RHP Luis Cessa entered the game in relief and recorded the loss,
allowing 1ER in 2.0IP (2H, 2BB)…LHP Aroldis Chapman had 2K in 1.0IP and has not allowed a hit or run in six outings this
spring (6.0IP, 2BB, 8K)…both Yankees runs came on a two-run HR by DH Matt Holliday (1-for-3) in the sixth.
LEADERS OF THE PACK: At 18-7 (.720), the Yankees have the best spring record in all of Major League Baseball.
Yankees pitchers lead the Majors in ERA (3.56) and WHIP (1.16)…their .215 opponents’ BA is lowest in the Majors,
with no other team below .240…are fourth in the Majors with 215K in 222.2IP.
Yankees batters are second in the Major Leagues with 36HR (Milwaukee-38)…lead the Grapefruit League with

GLOBAL ENTRY: Six Yankees players participated in the 2017 World Baseball Classic…RHP Tyler Clippard (USA) and INF
Didi Gregorius (The Netherlands) advanced to the semifinals, though Gregorius did not play due to a right shoulder
injury…Team USA plays Japan tonight at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles (9 p.m. ET), with the winner facing Puerto
Rico in the WBC Final on Wednesday (9 p.m. ET)…RHP Giovanny Gallegos (Mexico), LHP Tommy Layne (Italy) and INF
Donovan Solano (Colombia) were eliminated in the first round of pool play and have returned to the Yankees, while
RHP Dellin Betances (Dominican Republic) was eliminated in the second round.
Additionally, first base coach Tony Peña managed the Dominican Republic squad, and third base coach Joe Espada
is serving as third base coach for Puerto Rico.
RAILRIDERS TO RECEIVE RINGS: The 2016 Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders team that won both the International League
Governor’s Cup and the Gildan Triple-A National Championship Game will be presented with their National Championship
rings in an on-field ceremony prior to Friday’s 1:05 p.m. game vs. Philadelphia at Steinbrenner Field.
HOPE WEEK 2017: The Yankees are proud to announce the return of HOPE Week (Helping Others Persevere & Excel)
in 2017 for the ninth consecutive season…the initiative, which will run in New York from Monday, May 22 - Friday, May
26, is rooted in the belief that acts of good will provide hope and encouragement to more than just the recipient of the
gesture…this year marks the seventh consecutive year that the Yankees have kicked off HOPE Week-themed events by
recognizing a Tampa-area organization for making a difference in the Bay area…this year’s Tampa honoree, Blanket Tampa
Bay, is an organization that provides to the homeless and working poor in the Tampa area.
 
 
GEORGE M. STEINBRENNER FIELD ENHANCEMENTS: During this past offseason, George M. Steinbrenner Field underwent
significant ballpark enhancements, including a new entrance gate in right field by the Dale Mabry Highway overpass and
a two-level team store by the home plate entrance…bullpen clubs on the first and third base lines provide great social
gathering spaces for all fans to enjoy…fans will now be able to walk a complete loop around the entire stadium with newly
installed concourses and seating in the outfield…more shaded areas have been added to the stadium…additional highlights include a redesigned right field pavilion,
loge boxes on the first and third base lines, a group party area on the left field deck and newly built cabanas in the outfield…fans will also be able to enjoy a redesigned
menu courtesy of Legends Hospitality.
Fans attending home spring training Yankees games are strongly encouraged to arrive early and budget an appropriate amount of time for MLB-mandated metal
detection screening via hand-held wanding…fans should also note the already established bag check policy prohibiting the admission of bags larger than 16” x
16” x 8” into Steinbrenner Field.
Steinbrenner Field gates open to fans with valid tickets 2 hours prior to every game.

MEDIA AND CREDENTIAL INFORMATION
Credentials on game days can be picked up at the Press Gate, located to the right of the ticket windows near the lobby entrance to GMS Field…on nongame days, credentials should be picked up in Media Relations office in the rear of the press box on the third floor…media guides are also distributed from
the press box office…with questions, please call (813) 673-3053 or e-mail [email protected]…credentials are required of all media planning to
attend games at GMS Field…BBWAA cards and already-issued 2017 Yankees or MLB full-season credentials are always accepted…those needing to apply
for a daily credential must submit their request online at https://credentials.mlb.com with at least 24 hours notice…the online application is the only
acceptable method for requesting credentials to games at GMS Field…applications must be completed by a Sports Assignment Editor.
