The Touch Screen is configured with PICED™ Configuration Software to display custom graphics such as sliders, images, gauges, and clocks with any background or style. These graphics control specific, custom programmed C-Bus related functions when pressed. Functions include automatically scheduling events based on the time of day, week, month, or year with the system-integrated real time clock, and creating scenes that enable a series of related events to occur with one touch of a button. Touch screen functions are performed by pressing the touchsensitive LCD screen, or by using the infrared hand-held remote control unit. Connections and product features include USB and RS232 serial ports, composite video output, 10/100 ethernet interface, two C-Bus connections (in parallel), audio line in and line out connections, and built-in speakers. © 2007 Schneider Electric. The Touch Screen's system clock is disabled by default since it is recommended that a maximum of three system clocks be enabled on a network. Refer to the C-Bus Toolkit software for additional information, and to enable the Color Touch Screen system clock. Megger Testing Information Megger testing of an electrical installation with connected C-Bus units will not damage the units. The C-Bus units' electronic components should be considered when interpreting megger readings. Never perform megger testing on the pink C-Bus data cabling or terminals. This may degrade the performance of the network. Network Considerations The Color Touch Screen draws 20 mA from the C-Bus network. Adequate C-Bus power supply units must be installed to support the connected devices. 10 © 2007 Schneider Electric. All Rights Reserved. 63249-420-209A1 04/2007 Square D® Clipsal® Color Touch Screen Instruction Bulletin Selecting a Location Prior to installing the Color Touch Screen, consider these factors to select the best available location: x Provide easy access to the Touch Screen by considering obstructions such as doors. x Place the Touch Screen where infrared signals from a remote control will not be obstructed. x Place Touch Screens where a single remote control cannot access multiple Touch Screens simultaneously. Refer to the "Installing the Color Touch Screen with IR Support" section of this manual. x Leave the Touch Screen uncovered. x Place the Touch Screen where it is not subjected to water, humidity, direct sunlight, or heavy dust. x Only use the Touch Screen indoors. x Only mount the Touch Screen vertically in a landscape orientation to maximize heat dissipation. x Provide the optimal mounting height by considering the viewing angle. The typical viewing angle is 70º left, right, and down, and 40º up. Refer to the "Considering the Viewing Angle during Mounting" figure. Figure 1: Considering the Viewing Angle during Mounting KEY: A. 70° left B. 40° up C. 70° down D. 70° right NOTE: Warm air radiates from the vents at the top of the Touch Screen possibly causing some surface discoloration over time. © 2007 Schneider Electric. The remote control functionality is set up using the PICED software, and the functions depend upon how the Touch Screen is programmed. The same remote control can communicate with multiple Touch Screens installed on the same network. Refer to the IR Remote Manual for additional information. Installing the Color Touch Screen with IR Support HAZARD OF OVERLAPPING RECEPTION ZONES Install multiple Touch Screens in locations where infrared reception zones will not overlap when using an infrared remote (IR) control. Failure to follow this instruction can result in unintended operation. Multiple Touch Screens can be installed on any C-Bus™ network. These units may be programmed to operate dependently or independently of each other. Be sure to install multiple Touch Screens in locations where infrared reception zones will not overlap when using an infrared remote (IR) control. Figure 2: Infrared Reception Zones KEY: 1. Room 1 2. The software project is created, and then exported to an archive folder where it can be transferred to the Touch Screen. Refer to a Square D® Lighting Control representative or the installer for information on creating and archiving a software project. The customized software project is ready to transfer to the Touch Screen after the project is complete and archived using Clipsal C-Bus Toolkit software. To transfer a software project, a PC connection, and installation of Clipsal's C-Bus Toolkit software and Piced software is required. All software is available from the Clipsal Integrated Systems (CIS) website at (http://www.clipsal.com/cis). After the software is installed, connect the Touch Screen to the C-Bus Network. Refer to the "Connecting the Color Touch Screen to the C-Bus Network" section for connection and wiring information. Refer to the "C-Bus Toolkit Help" in the Toolkit software for additional connection and startup information. Transferring the Customized Software Project to the Color Touch Screen The PICED software includes a Touch Screen transfer utility that is used to upload a software project from the project archive to the Touch Screen. After the software project is installed, configuration functions, such as setting the time on the Touch Screen, can be completed. The transfer instructions provided are about how to install a project from a PC using a direct Ethernet connection. NOTE: It is also possible to install software projects to multiple Touch Screens through a common DHCP network, or a network where each Touch Screen has been configured with an appropriate static IP Address. When connecting through a DHCP network, wait approximately 3 minutes for the network connection to be enabled. © 2007 Schneider Electric.
