Newport News, VA, Jan. 13, 2016 – How good are you at taking pictures of your meals? During Newport
News Restaurant Week, Jan. 15 through Feb. 6, we invite you to tag your best shots with
#NewportNewsRestaurantWeek16 on Facebook and Instagram for a chance to win one of our weekly grand
prizes. Winners will be randomly selected (via www.random.org) every Friday during the event (Jan. 22, Jan. 29
and Feb. 5). And the prizes don't stop there! Try your luck at winning a gift certificate to participating restaurants by
visiting Facebook and Instagram daily.
During Newport News Restaurant Week, diners will have their choice of a two-course lunch for $7.16 or
$10.16; while dinner options include a three-course meal for $20.16 or $30.16 (prices do not include tax or gratuity).
In recognition of the year 2016, all price points end in 16 cents.
As of Jan. 13, nearly two dozen restaurants have signed on to participate in the event. Establishments
offering a three-course dinner for $30.16 include Circa 1918 Kitchen & Bar, Dino’s Pizza, Fin Seafood
Restaurant, Harpoon Larry’s, Pearl 703, Schlesinger’s Chop House, Thaijindesu, and Tucanos Brazilian
Grill. The restaurants offering a $20.16 dinner are Cove Tavern, Crab Shack, Kitchen 740 (inside the Newport
News Marriott at City Center), Rick & Libby’s (formerly Mike’s Place), Second Street, and Tuscany Italian
Ristorante. Two establishments, Al Fresco Italian Restaurant and Donatos will offer both a $20.16 and $30.16
dinner option.
Lucky for us that Newport News Restaurant Week isn’t just for dinner! Grab some co-workers or meet
someone special for a delicious prix fixe lunch of only $10.16 at Al Fresco Italian Restaurant, Cove Tavern,
Crab Shack, Dino’s Pizza, Fin Seafood Restaurant, Harpoon Larry’s, Kitchen 740 (inside the Newport News
Marriott at City Center), Neo Kitchen + Bar, Pearl 703, Rick & Libby’s (formerly Mike’s Place), Second Street,
Smoke, Straight Outta Philly, Thaijindesu, or Tuscany Italian Ristorante.
Three restaurants, Donatos, the IHOP at 15447 Warwick Blvd., and Manhattan’s New York Deli & Pub
will offer lunch at both price points of $7.16 and $10.16, while Fountain Plaza Café will offer its Restaurant Week
lunch menu at $7.16.
The 3rd Annual Newport News Restaurant Week is managed by the Newport News Hospitality Association,
with support from the Newport News Tourism Development Office. Sponsors include Waters & Bridgman
Marketing Solutions; food distributors Sysco Corporation and Performance Foodservice Virginia; App-a-Cab, a
mobile/online taxi booking service, the Virginia Restaurant, Lodging and Travel Association, and yelp. As
restaurants sign up to participate, their menus and other information will be added to the Restaurant Week website,
so check back often for updates.
