SPRING 20 201 15 5 NEWSLETTER “Spring makes the world a happy place You see a smile on every face. Flowers come out and birds arrive, Oh, isn’t it grand to be alive?” ~ Anonymous In this Edition We welcome the warmth of Spring and the chorus of birds, glistening bayside waters and fresh garden growth. In this edition we talk about the importance of nutrition for seniors and discuss a topic we are often asked about by clients – should I sell my house now or later? Our annual Spring Fair is coming up on Sunday 18th October, so make sure you put a date claimer on your calendar. There’s only three information days remaining this year – numbers are limited, so don’t miss out and call us to make a reservation. RETIREES FLOCK TO SYDNEY EXPO Happy Queenslanders! We smiled our way into the hearts of Sydneysiders attending the Sydney Retirement, Lifestyle and Travel Expo in July, at the Rosehill Event Centre. The national expo has a large number of exhibitors all targeted towards retirees and we decided to bring a little slice of Queensland to cold and wintery Sydney by recreating a courtyard at the Village. Floor to ceiling the walls of our stand were covered in an actual photo taken at the Village and the scenery was complete with an outdoor table setting, real life plants and delicious bags of lollies (pineapples and bananas, of course). For 3 days we talked and talked at the expo and then when the expo finished we walked and walked – determined to see the sights of Parramatta and take in its incredible history. Most importantly, we launched our latest campaign specially dedicated to Sydneysiders. If you’re in Sydney or you know someone who is and you’re interested in exploring retirement living options here in South East Queensland, visit our website www.rrl.net.au/sydney for a special offer. This is a rare opportune time to take advantage of the buoyant Sydney real estate market and acquire a fantastic new lifestyle. 36 Bunker Road, Victoria Point Phone 3820 7700 www.rrl.net.au Healthy Eating = Healthy Living Living a healthy lifestyle which incorporates staying physically active, challenging your brain and fuelling your body with nutritious food is so important – no matter what your age. Renaissance Retirement Living 7th Annual Spring Fair will be on Sunday 18th October from 10am to 2pm… TO SELL NOW OR WAIT? THAT IS THE QUESTION… Renaissance is committed to reducing any stress involved in the decision making and moving process. Three concerns commonly raised are:1. Downsizing and relinquishing years of accumulated items. 2. Confidence in securing a chosen unit. 3. Somewhere to reside if the house sells before a chosen villa is ready. Perhaps you may also be confronted with similar concerns. Be assured you are not alone in the process. It has all been done before. Our Lifestyle Consultants are here to help you and they know skilled professionals who can assist you. The following is a summary of useful things that may ease your concerns Start by obtaining a preliminary assessment on your home from three local agents along with their proposed marketing strategy. This enables you to consider the full financial implications of how much you may get for you home, what funds you want surplus to assist with your future retirement lifestyle and expenses associated with the sale and moving process. Then you will have a good idea of what you have to spend on your retirement accommodation. Renaissance encourages clients to have their homes sold or on the market before entering into a formal application process. In some cases a preferred villa may be under construction, this can lead to hesitation in selling your home. However we have evidenced disappointment in the past where future residents have not been able to sell their houses prior to the completion of their new villa. Which has resulted in them not being able to move into their selected unit. We can’t predict with accuracy what the property market will do at any given time, but we have an option for future residents to assist them in securing their chosen villa and take advantage of the current demand for residential property.
