Welcome Back Everyone! Hope the break has been a memorable one filled with plenty of rest and good food during the cold weather. As we hit term 3 we will find that many of our codes are heading towards the end, with many teams finishing up over the next 3-­‐4 weeks. Coaches, hang in there during this time as this can often be a struggle getting players back into the final weeks of competition. Important Dates this Term Thursday August 13th, 2015: Lynfield Exchange. This exchange will be held at our school this year and will include Basketball, Football, Golf, Hockey, Netball, Rugby, Waterpolo and Debating. Should be a great day e

Holidays Sports Update Sports, Sports, Sports! Motor X The Tauranga Boys School MX Trent Haywood Memorial 2015 race was held at Pairini racetrack today with 19 schools competing. Mount had 4 competitors Brad Cameron, Josh Leopold, Connor Lucas & Raquel Leopold. With Mount College coming 5th from 18schools fantastic result for a small team. Podium finish for Brad Cameron who came 5th in the Expert 15-­‐18years 125cc & Josh Leopold 2nd in the Intermediate 14years over 125/250cc. Connor Lucas finished overall 7th from 38th in Intermediate 14yrs 125/250cc and Raquel finishing 11th in the woman's. Well done to the team on their 5th overall school best result to date!!! And thanks to all the parents & supporters, it was a good day out. Thanks to Tauranga Boys college for organising a great race day & Mount college rode with pride in memory of friend Trent Haywood. 2
Netball Congratulations to Ashley Maylor, Eva Gibson, Julia Kayes and Centrie Newdick on making the Harbourside U17 team that played in the National Tournament held here at Harbourside Netball Centre over the holidays. Word on the street is these girls played some fantastic netball. Congratulations also to Armanii Martelli-­‐Ririnui, Mercedes Taniwha and Raquel Leopold on making the Harbourside Invitation U17 Team. A huge effort by all girls involved. Waterpolo In the holidays four Mount Maunganui College students represented New Zealand at the New South Wales & New Zealand Waterpolo Tournament at Sydney's Newington College Pool. Jack Ellis and Bae Fountain both played for the New Zealand Born 2000 (Cadet) Boys A team which won their competition, coming home with a gold medal. Shinae Carrington and Grace Elisara competed for the New Zealand Born 2000 (Cadet) Girls A team and they too won gold. An outstanding result for New Zealand waterpolo and for Mount College. 3
