Band 6 Macmillan Physiotherapist – Maternity Leave Cover
24 hours per week – Maternity Leave Cover (approximately 9 months)
We are recruiting a professional and highly motivated Physiotherapist to join the supportive and
friendly rehabilitation team at The Hospice of St Francis in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire.
The Physiotherapy team is a key part of the MDT working with patients/carers/family members on
the Inpatient Unit, within the community and also to outpatients in our Spring Centre. This post will
provide the opportunity for an innovative Physiotherapist to develop their knowledge, experience
and skills across a broad range of conditions.
This post will allow the successful candidate to deliver Physiotherapy interventions that aim to assist
patients with a diagnosis of a potentially life limiting illness to optimise their independence and
improve their quality of life and also support their family and carers. You will work with
patients/carers/family members on a 1:1 basis but also within groups and workshops and therefore
you should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and organisational expertise.
You will also help to support the Rehabilitation Assistants within the team and also work with our
dedicated volunteers. Peer support will be provided by the highly skilled Physiotherapy team and
training opportunities will be available to help you develop further. This post is supported by
Macmillan who also provide extensive training and support opportunities.
You should be enthusiastic and keen to work with the team to provide an excellent service in line
with the visions and values of the Hospice of St Francis. You will need to be a team worker and also
be able to use your own initiative. You will manage your own workload and be prepared to
participate in team and service development.
