ENVIRONMENTAL SWAB SAMPLING SYSTEMS
COPAN’S LINE OF SRK (Swab Rinse Kits) offers
comprehensive sampling systems for microbiological
examination of surfaces for the bio-pharmaceutical
industry, the food-hygiene and cosmetics industries.
A widely used and effective method for the detection
and quantitation of microorganisms is to pre-moisten
a swab with a solution prior to sampling and then to
rinse the swab after the sample has been collected
for analysis. Pre-moistened swabs improve the uptake
of sample material, particularly when sampling dry
surfaces. Each SRK unit includes a labeled screw-cap
tube filled with a specified volume of rinse solution. The
swab is attached to the cap of the tube. SRK kits are
available in bulk packs or sterile, individually wrapped
kits. Convenient sampling templates to define sampling
areas and a variety of T and L shape spreaders are the
perfect complement to the SRK kits.
Combination sets are also available and include two
tubes: one screw cap tube with an attached sterile
swab and filled with a small volume of saline solution
for moistening the tip of the swab, and a second tube
containing a nutrient broth to use as a rinse solution,
diluent, or recovery medium.
