Twitter is a place where I connect with a community of professionals committed to the teaching
profession. I (@iteach kindy) was surprised to be followed by Koeckritz Rugs recently
(@koeckritzrugs). I was part of a group of teachers at our school that had just been awarded a grant for
our school library (Yippee!) to be painted and updated.
As I investigated Koeckritz Rugs to see why they would have followed me and also to see what they
had to offer, I discovered a product which caught my eye: Crazy Carpet Circle Seats
(http://koeckritzrugs.com/product/kids-carpet-18-inch-round-rug-mats-crazy-carpet-circle-seats-set-of19-rainbow-multi-color/).
Koeckritz Rugs has created a generous 18” circle rug which any teacher would fall in love with. I can
picture many school age children finding these rugs to be perfect for their reading spot, circle time seat,
or quiet space for writing. Mats could even be used by adults! They come in a variety of fun colors,
and are made from a soft 1 inch polyester filament fiber.
Color names include: Bumble Bee set of 6 (yellow and black) Multi-Color Rainbow set of 19, Purple
Passion set of 6, Wild Flowers set of 10, as well as many other colors (Bubble gum pink, Grass Green,
Bright Circus Blue, Pretty Plum Purple to name just a few.) If you have a classroom theme, they have
the colors to match! These rugs would be perfect for Preschool, Kindergarten, Daycares, yes....and
libraries. We were able to get a 20% discount and free shipping which allowed us to purchase these
rugs within our limited budget!
Customer service at Koeckritz Rugs was outstanding! After a bit of direct messaging @koeckritzrugs
was kind enough to send us some sample colors as well as a sample rug. This was beneficial to the
project as we were able to see the quality and convince our administrator that these would be a good
investment for the project.
We have ordered 30 Crazy Carpet Circle Seats for our library. I can't wait to see this space unfold! I
hope to post further pictures of our project and these mats in use. For now I'll have to imagine the little
ones curled up with a good book on these seats! Next step is to put these on a wish list for my own
classroom!
