Dear Parents, Carers and Children,
Firstly, thank you to all of those parents and carers who have asked about Father Duffy. He
is recovering well and we are hopeful that he will be out of hospital soon. I know that your
prayers will make a difference.
Beat The Street
Yesterday we were visited by Lorraine from Durham
County Council who came to talk to us about an
exciting new health initiative happening in Chester-leStreet: Beat the Street! Today, children came home with
a special card and leaflet which provides you with
more information about this game. Earn points and win
prizes by tapping special cards onto sensors known as
Beat Boxes as you travel around the area. There is even
a Beat Box on the lamppost outside school.
Cafod Donations and Mini Vinnies
Our week began here on Monday with our Mini Vinnies
leading us in our collective worship talking about the Lenten
Cafod project; Big Fish, Little Fish. This project is a reminder that
some people struggle to find enough money to meet their
basic needs such as food, clothing and housing. Small Cafod
envelopes were distributed for anyone who may like to make
a small donation to Cafod to support this project during Lent.
Thank you for any donations already received.
Happy Mother’s Day
Thank you to all of the lovely ladies who were able
to attend our Mother’s Day Lunch and Liturgy this
week. To all of the special ladies in our lives, wishing
you all a very Happy Mother’s Day!
Best wishes,
Catherine Harper

Updated Behaviour and Reward Policy
We get many parents asking us about our ‘It’s Good to Be Green’ Behaviour
Reward Scheme and the use of green tickets and red/yellow cards. For any
parents who would like some more insight into our school behaviour and
reward policy, it has recently been updated and is available on our school
website. You can find it in the News section or Policies section.
Please can you ensure that
you are up to date with your
payments on ParentPay for
school lunches. There are still
some parents who have
outstanding balances. If
anyone wishes to speak to the
school about this, please do
not hesitate to contact us. We
are here to help!
Brain Tumour Research
Donations
During this month of March it is
awareness month for many
conditions and diagnoses.
Next Friday 31st March we will
have some of our children
holding buckets for any
donations to brain tumor
research. I am aware that we
have asked parents for a lot of
donations lately, but if anyone
would like to donate, thank
you in advance.
