It offers advanced current cont rol and a sophist icat ed 3rd generat ion ant i-resonance algorit hm t hat elect ronically dampens mot or and syst em resonances t o improve mot or smoot hness and usable t orque over a wide speed range. The drive also employs elect ronic t orque ripple smoot hing and microst ep emulat ion t o great ly reduce mot or noise and vibrat ion. The drive must be powered from 24-80 VDC and can out put up t o 10.0 A/phase (peak-of-sine) t o t he st ep mot or. Over-volt age, over-t emperat ure and over-current prot ect ion feat ures prevent damage while running in adverse condit ions. The drive is complement ed by a specifically mat ched set of NEMA 23 and NEMA 34 frame st epper mot ors (see Relat ed and Recommended product s below). The ST10-Q-NE can operat e in all of t he same cont rol modes as t he S model (pulse & direct ion, velocit y, st reaming commands, SiNet Hub operat ion), plus it has t he abilit y t o run st and-alone Q programs st ored in non-volat ile memory. Q programs are creat ed using t he Q Programmer™ soft ware, which provides mult i-t asking, mat h funct ions, condit ional processing, dat a regist er manipulat ion, and more feat ures in a robust yet simple t ext -based programming language. The drive is set up and configured using Applied Mot ion’s ST Configurator™ soft ware. Preconfigured mot or set up files included wit h ST Configurator™ make it easy t o set up t he drive for opt imum result s. For connect ing t o ext ernal devices such as cont rol signals, increment al encoders, limit swit ches, proximit y or phot oelect ric sensors, PLC I/O, lamps, and ot her devices, t he drive comes wit h 8 digit al input s, 4 digit al out put s, and 2 single-ended analog input s (analog input s can be wired t oget her as 1 different ial analog input ). Adjust able digit al filt ers are present on t he digit al input s for enhanced reliabilit y in noisy environment s. The drive comes wit h an RS-232 port for configurat ion, serial communicat ions and programming. The ST10-Q-NE comes wit h an encoder feedback connect or for applicat ions t hat demand a higher level of posit ion cont rol t han ordinary open-loop st ep mot or syst ems can provide. Use our double-shaft st ep mot ors wit h increment al encoders and act ivat e eit her St all Det ect ion or St all Prevent ion in t he drive. St all Det ect ion not ifies t he syst em as soon as t he required t orque is t oo great for t he mot or, which result s in a loss of synchronizat ion bet ween t he rot or and st at or, also known as st alling. St all Prevent ion aut omat ically adjust s mot or speed t o maint ain synchronizat ion of t he rot or t o t he st at or under all condit ions. This unique feat ure allows st ep mot ors t o operat e in a much broader range of applicat ions t han previously possible, such as t orque-cont rol. The St all Prevent ion feat ure also performs st at ic posit ion maint enance, which maint ains t he posit ion of t he mot or shaft when at rest . Addit ionally, t he inclusion of t he opt ional encoder allows t he mot or t o be precisely homed t o t he index (marker) pulse. All ST drives are CE approved and RoHS compliant .
