Course Description
This course is a continuation of Spanish language and Latin American culture
beginner level working toward an intermediate level (Spanish 4). Emphasis is placed
on listening, speaking, reading, writing and cultural awareness.
This course prepares students to interact in a daily life context and provides the
foundation for continued studies in Spanish.
We hope that you take advantage of this course through dynamic participation, good
attendance and a self-evaluation.
The class is mainly conducted in Spanish to familiarize you with the Spanish sounds,
the basic intonation patterns, practical vocabulary, and also to encourage students to
communicate fairly naturally from the first day. The emphasis is on spontaneous talk
and confidence building.
Objectives
Intermediate Spanish 3 course provides students who possess knowledge of basic
grammatical structures with more advance training. The main purpose is to increase
vocabulary, perform activities, work in a conversational context to improve the
communication in Spanish language also, and to expose you to different Hispanic
cultures, increasing your awareness of the Spanish speaking world.
At the end of the course, you should be able to: order food in a restaurant, make
invitations, plans and phone calls, ask and offer a favor, express intentions, talk about
health and express possibility or permission.

Includes exercise book and downloadable audio.
Cost $70. Available from School Administrator.
A good, medium- sized (portable) dictionary is important.
It would be fantastic to practice the lessons, and listen to the audio during your free
time or maybe when you are driving.
