This term we will be looking at
Fairy tales.
To incorporate the Fire and Ice
theme the children will be learning
the story of Frozen.
We will start by plotting the key
parts of the story. The children will
then change some of these key
points to make their own version.

Within this theme we will be covering

Geography- This term the children
will be comparing two places with
differing climates. They will then look
into weather in the UK and our other
chosen location.
DT- Children will be preparing simple
dishes and begin to chop, peel and
slice.
Art-The children will be making a junk
model of a volcano using cardboard
and other junk materials.
The children will also be
experimenting with collage using
different shades of blue the children
will be making a collage of an icy
landscape.
Other Subjects

Science Core – This term we will be
learning about materials. The
children will be naming common
materials and sorting them
depending on their properties such
as if they are waterproof.
Please continue to read with your
child every night. Please record how
they got on in their reading
records, we love to hear how they
are getting on at home. Spellings
and times tables will be tested
every Friday. Please learn these
with your child at home. I would like

ICT Skills – This term the children
will begin to learn programming
skills. We will be playing a number
of computer games which teach the
children to programme characters
and the movements they make.
PE – Children will be learning a
simple dance routine. The children
will learn to link simple dance
movements to create a simple dance
sequence. The children will also
take part in athletic sessions
taught by Mr Farrington.
RE- This term the children will
begin to learn about Hinduism and
Judaism. The children will learn
stories such as Rama and Sita.
This terms topic homework is to
design a poster based on informing
children of fire safety. What they
do in the event of a fire. For
example information on smoke
detectors or calling 999.
Please could these be in school by
Monday 6th July, this will give us

them to the rest of the class.
