STAR Fuel Valve System – Type DC201 and DC103
Course Aim
To provide those personnel responsible for the maintenance and operation of the DC103 & DC201 STAR
Fuel Valve System with hands-on experience on its
operation and calibration procedures.
Course Structure
The course is designed to provide the course delegate
with an understanding of the operation and functioning of STAR Fuel Valve System.
This course is provided within one of our dedicated
Control System lecture rooms equipped with STAR
Fuel Valve simulators and state-of-the-art teaching
aids. During the course, much emphasis is placed
on practical exercises to increase the delegate’s
familiarity with the system. In order to maximize
this “hands-on” experience, course numbers are
restricted.
Course Prerequisites
Successful completion of a Siemens Operations
and Maintenance or Controls course
PC Literacy – Windows NT
Conversant with industry standard
instrumentation

System Overview: system applications,
hardware, software and Turbine Control system
interfaces
DC Desk Programming Software*: introduction
and familiarization
Use of DC Desk: DC Desk configuration,
going on-line, loading/saving software, system
configuration, calibration procedures (fuel valve,
VGV control, governor)
Fault Finding: status indications, error code
interpretation, warm start card* utilization
Practical Exercises: all areas of the course are
supported by “hands-on” practical exercises
Delegate Assessment
*Please note: Whilst the DC Desk Programming software and the
warm start card are provided for use during the course, these items
are not normally supplied as part of the turbine package supply.
Customers must purchase these items separately in order to carry
out any of the above procedures at site (DC Desk – essential, warm
start – recommended).
