2005 “Kissed by an Angel” Rocks the House
IT WAS STANDING ROOM ONLY at the “Kissed by an Angel” Girls
Night Out event February 3rd as more than 250 Dallas women
packed the beautiful home of Kay and Greg Potter to shop, sip
and sup during the 5th annual event, all benefiting CDF. Unique
specialty vendors of all kinds were tucked in and around the
gorgeous interior and exterior of the Potter home and the expansive kitchen
was stocked with exotic foods donated by Central Market. Fabulous wines were donated by
Ruth Ann and Carter Daniels and beer and water were donated by Linda and Randy Golden.
Proceeds topped $50,000. Event Chair Lee Rury and Vice Chair Tammy Gribble would like
to thank the tireless efforts of the “Kissed by an Angel” Committee, all the generous Angel
underwriters and Kay and Greg Potter for their gracious hospitality.

Chairman’s
Message
What an exciting time to be a part of the Clayton Dabney Foundation! In this, our
10th year, we’ll serve more families from more cities than ever before. To celebrate
this milestone we’ve got an amazing year planned.
In January, to kick things off, the Foundation dedicated a room at Children’s
Medical Center in honor of our namesake Clayton Dabney. The dedication was a
wonderful opportunity to remember and honor our roots and to reflect on how and why the
Foundation began.
In February we held our 5th Annual, and most successful, “Kissed by an Angel” ladies event (the pictures in
this newsletter make it pretty clear that a good time was had by all.) This event has been such an exciting way to
share the message of the Foundation that we’re expanding to Austin! On April 20th, our Austin friends and
supporters will hold their own “Kissed by an Angel” party at the fabulous home of Steve and Donna Stockton-Hicks.
On April 16th, our 10 Year Anniversary Gala will celebrate the fact that “Angels Do Exist”. This will truly be a night to remember,
a once in a decade event, not to be missed!! All of our “Angels”, our founders, supporters, volunteers and newcomers are invited to be
a part of this very special evening.
Later this year, our good friend, CBS golf analyst David Feherty, will be back on September 29th to kick off the now infamous and
always sold out Clayton Dabney Foundation Golf Tournament. The event will be held October 7th at the Golf Club at Castle Hills.
That’s our 10 Year Anniversary in a nutshell. We’ve got a lot going on but our end goal is, as always, to help as many families as
we can to create joyful, everlasting memories when they desperately need them. I hope you will join me this year in celebrating our
past and looking to our future.

Children’s Medical Center Dallas Honors CDF
To kick off the 10th anniversary year of the
Clayton Dabney Foundation, Children’s
Medical Center Dallas dedicated a patient
room on its pediatric oncology floor in
honor of the Foundation and Clayton
Dabney. An official dedication ceremony
was held January 11th with a luncheon for
CDF Board members and the Dabney
family. “Children’s is incredibly grateful for
the recent “WePromise” campaign gift from
the Clayton Dabney Foundation,” said
Children’s President and CEO Christopher
Durovich. “Their mission to provide
families with children in the last stages of
terminal cancer assistance in creating
everlasting memories is a noble one that has
a meaningful impact on families with sick
children.”

The Clayton Dabney Foundation
for Kids with Cancer provides
needy families, with children in
the last stages of terminal
cancer, assistance in creating
“Everlasting Memories.”
The assistance is arranged
through the parents and is
anonymous to the child.

HOLIDAY TIME FOR CHILDREN should be all about colorful lights and
decorations, holiday parties with close friends and family and all the
trimmings that make the holidays such a magical time for kids. Unfortunately, when you’re raising two small children with limited resources
your dreams of providing special holiday memories for your kids is
difficult when there is rent to pay and termination notices for utilities.
But all of this seems of little importance when your 4 year-old daughter
has terminal cancer and may not make it through the holidays. The
Clayton Dabney Foundation helped this family by paying the rent and
household bills so that mom and dad could focus on their little girl’s last
Christmas. CDF volunteers then delivered a brand new Barbie Car to
make the little girl’s Christmas wish come true. She and her sister had
many good days enjoying the car and mom and dad have the precious
memories of their little girl that will last them a lifetime.
