St. Andrews’ November 11th news : It is with both happiness and regret that we will be saying goodbye to Miss Fowell on Friday 21st November. She has worked extremely hard for the children in KS2 over the last year, making a real difference to their learning of them all, and particularly the children with SEND needs and those in Year 6 preparing for their SATs next year. It was already planned for Miss Anderson to be the lead supporting TA in KS2 however due to the staffing changes last year and new staff and pupils settling into Chestnut class, we needed her full time with the younger class to give consistency and we were able to extend Miss Fowell’s contract until Christmas. Now that the new staff have established themselves at St. Andrew’s and the new pupils have settled in so well, Miss Anderson will be able to work across both classes, working mainly in KS2 in the mornings. We will be very sorry to see Miss Fowell go, as she has brought so much to the school, however we are extremely excited for her as her talents have been recognised and she has been offered a job working at Millfield Primary, near Ely, which is closer to her home and offers her a superb career opportunity to further develop her skills as she works towards being a teacher. We hope you will join us in wishing her all the very best in her new role. We are also sadly saying goodbye to Miss Kemp who has been an MSA with us for the last six years. We have very much appreciated her hard work and wish her the best of luck in the future. Miss Torode will be covering her lunchtime duties. Mrs Pilsworth, who has been working in the office, for the past two years retired at the end of half term. We really appreciate all her hard work and commitment to the school. She is now looking forward to spending more time with her grandchildren and taking on new challenges. We wish her all the very best. Mrs Woods is helping out in the office in the short term. Aim high, Inspire others and be Motivated to achieve. Friends dates for your diary: Saturday 28 November St Andrew’s Church Christmas Fayre – at the local church. The children are all making ‘hand made’ gifts which will be on sale. Please come along and support this event. Friday 4 December Christmas Prize Bingo – in the school hall.
