Course Description
Architectural History I is the first one of four general survey courses that provide students with a critical
understanding of architectural developments and cross-cultural relations. The material presented in this course is
drawn from the Neolithic through the Middle Ages and will focus particularly on the architecture of Europe and
the Mediterranean basin. The course will deal with architecture and built environment within a contextual frame.
Grading Policy
There are two written exams: a Midterm Exam (45%) and a Final Exam (55%).
Course Requirements
Use of mobile phones, tablets, laptops, etc. is not permitted during the class!
Recording is not permitted during the class!
