Thankyouforcomingtodaytolearnmoreaboutoursociety.Thisinformationsessionwillgiveyou
anoverviewofwhoweareandwhatwestrivetodo.Atthesametime,youwilllearnthesteps
necessarytobecomeamemberofTauBetaPi.
TauBetaPiisthenation’soldestandmostprestigiousengineeringhonorsociety.Thereare
collegiatechaptersat241collegesanduniversities,plus33activealumnichaptersin16districts
acrossthecountry,totalinganinitiatedmembershipofover540,000.TheFloridaAlphaChapter
wasfoundedin1961andsincethenhasbeenoneofthemostactivechapters.Ourchapterhas
initiatedover5,000members!WehavebeennamedtheMostOutstandingChapterninetimes.
Ourpurposeistorecognizeexceptionalengineeringstudents,encourageyoungstudentstopursue
engineering,andserveourlocalcommunity.Wehavethreemajorprogramstoencourageyoung
studentstopursueengineeringdegrees:GatorTRAX,SECME,andTutoringforEngineering
Excellence(TEE).TobeeligibleformembershipinTauBetaPi,juniorsmustbeinthetopeighthof
theirclass,andseniorsandgraduatestudentsmustbeinthetopfifthoftheirclass.Allcandidates
mustdemonstrateexemplarycharacterthroughparticipationinourchapter.
ThispackethasbeenputtogethertohelpyousuccessfullybecomeamemberofTauBetaPi.It
