Home At Last Dog Rescue – 501c3 P.O. Box 1341 North Wales, PA 19454 www.homeatlastdogrescue.com Thank you so much for joining Home At Last Dog Rescue as a foster parent/ volunteer! Without people like you, it would not be possible to save dogs. Home At Last is proud that we have saved more than 5000 dogs and are currently placing more than 3 dogs a day in its forever home. We cannot do it without the dedication & hard work of our volunteers. Please email HOME so we can make arrangements with a trainer to meet with your family and foster dog. Vet Care Sometimes a foster dog may need to go to the vet. HAL will pay for the services as long as you have pre-approval from Amanda/ Chrissie Cutulli ([email protected], 484-4290441) and the appointment is made at one of the vet hospitals listed below. Home At Last has an account at these facilities so when you call let them know this is a HAL dog. Amanda & Chrissie are in regular contact with our vets and they will keep you posted on your dog’s condition. Please do not call the vet; instead contact Amanda/ Chrissie for an update. Page 1 of 3 Rev. Date 3/12/15 Common vet services our foster dogs receive include routine vaccinations, spay/neuter, worms/parasites & kennel cough treatment. Website Contained in this email is your login information for our administrative website. Here you will find contact information of all the HAL volunteers, our dogs’ bios, and much more. This is where you access applications for your foster dog. Medical Records We have a team of people who are responsible for the collection of medical records for dogs new to HAL and scanning them into our system. You can access them on your dog’s bio page under the “View Dog” tab. It can take a couple days to get all the records posted. If you have an immediate need for specific medical info please post on FB a request for the person with specific transport records to private message you. Page 2 of 3 Rev. Date 3/12/15 Adoption Applications Fosters are responsible for processing applications for their foster dogs and all of the steps that lead to adoption. This includes reviewing each application, contacting applicants, calling references and conducting a home visit. Please refer to our “Helpful Hints for Processing Applications” document under “Download PDF Documents” on our admin website for more detail on how to handle applications. A “Home Visit Checklist” is also provided to offer guidance when conducting a home visit. Answers to frequently asked questions can be found in our “Foster Handbook”; please familiarize yourself with all 3 documents. As always, if you have any questions feel free to contact Barb, Jill Brittin ([email protected], 267-992-4006) or your mentor who will gladly walk you through the process. Foster Dog pictures and bios Updating your dog’s picture and/or bio on a regular basis generates interest. The best way to ensure the info is updated on all our media is to post on FB and tag any board member or Christine Arena. Events Throughout the year we hold events that showcase our dogs. We typically hold at least one Meet & Greet every weekend. We always post them on our website. They provide an excellent opportunity for potential adopters to meet our dogs. Volunteers In addition to fostering a dog we have a variety of opportunities for people to help HAL. Some include fundraising, marketing, maintaining our public Facebook page, scanning document into our Admin system and being a buddy for a dog at an event. Please email [email protected] for info on volunteer opportunities. Being a foster parent or volunteer with HAL is such a rewarding experience. Thank you again for opening your heart to a dog in need! Welcome to Home At Last Dog Rescue! Page 3 of 3 Rev. Date 3/12/15
