Late Fall 2009
DARTMOUTH WOMEN’S VOLLEYBALL
From the Coach’s Desk
As the warm temperatures
start to head south from
Hanover, I would like to take
this opportunity to wish you
all a healthy, happy, and safe
holiday season with family
and friends. We are finishing up 2009 getting the team
ready for some off season
conditioning and sending our
upperclassmen off to different parts of the country and
the world for a well deserved
break from winter term in
Hanover.
We finished the Ivy season
7-7, for our second best record since the double round
robin schedule started! We
finished 5th in the League
and 11-13 overall. We were
5-2 in the second half of the
Ivy season which saw the
team develop as the best de-
dress in pink and we raffled
off an iPod. It was a fantastic event to raise awareness
for Breast Cancer that we
hope to make a tradition on
our schedule.
Penn won the League this
year with a 13-1 record and
will face Army in the first
round of the NCAA tourney
in early December.
Dig Pink 2009
fensive team in the conference. The season highlights
were: a dramatic five set win
over Rhode Island to start the
season, two consecutive 3-0
wins over Harvard at the
beginning of Ivies, a season
sweep of Columbia, splits
with Brown, Cornell and
Yale and very competitive
matches with both Princeton
and Penn. Our late season
win against Yale at home
capped off an emotional and
well fought four game winning streak on Senior Day,
November 7th. We hosted
our first-ever Dig Pink event
versus Penn on October 16th.
