Climatographs
Climate = the average pattern of weather conditions that occur in a region, which are
observed and recorded over a period of years.
Temperature and weather are two factors that determine climate.
Climatograph = a graph of climate data that shows average monthly temperature and
average monthly precipitation for a location. Biomes are often defined using information in
climatographs.
How to read a climatograph:
- The left y-axis is mm of precipitation which is shown in the blue per month on the
x-axis
- The right y-axis is °C for temperature which is shown in the red line that spans the
months on the x-axis
Note – climatographs show average monthly temperature and precipitation where as biome
descriptions usually talk about annual average temperature and precipitation
