We will be meeting in the parking lot right behind Jimmy
Johns just south of Walmart. All supplies will be provided
including gloves, trash bags, and water.
This is a highly littered area. We suggest that only adults
and children over the age of 16 participate. The terrain and
refuse may be hazardous. The Sheriff’s Department will be
on hand to provide support.

2nd Place Winner of #2 Plastics

Endangered Recycler
The Wind Farm project in O’Neill Nebraska was halted due to the endangered
burying beetle. The most recent sighting for the endangered beetle was in
Lincoln, Dawson and Cherry counties. The North American record for the most
burying beetles is near North Platte. The burying beetle is one of 18 species in
Nebraska. It is a member of the carrion beetle family Silphidae. Carrion beetles, as
the name implies, are natural scavengers; they recycle decaying materials back into
the ecosystem. So the next time you want to squish a bug, stop and think, maybe
that bug is working to do his job! That job, being one of the most important, is to
naturally protect our environment.

Motor Litter Awareness Day
A big thank you to all the local banks and credit unions: Nebraskaland Bank,
Adams Bank and Trust, Equitable Bank, First National Bank, Wells Fargo Bank,
Centris Credit Union and U.P. Credit Union. We really appreciate the support and
assistance in handing out free litter bags provided by KNPLCB during
Motorist Litter Awareness Day. The bags help cut down on roadside litter. According to Keep America Beautiful we spend an estimated at $11.5 billion nationwide for litter clean up. Locally, KNPLCB spends over $17,000 on litter clean up.
While it’s getting better, we still have a long way to go!
Keep North Platte and Lincoln County Beautiful

recycle bins are emptied and the contents recycled properly.
* Julie Hupfer for her beautiful flowers she cares for
at Cody Park.

recipients of beautification from traveling college students
from Wisconsin. They donated time to weed and mulch
the Burlington Blvd. area. Great Role Models !!
