SALINATHEATRE.COM
Kansas Wesleyan University in partnership
with Salina Community Theatre presents
APRIL 7-9 & APRIL 20-23
NO PERFORMANCES EASTER WEEKEND
The first production from the creator of the
Broadway hit Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda!
In the Heights centers on a variety of characters living
in the neighborhood of Washington Heights, on the
northern tip of Manhattan. At the center of the show
is Usnavi, a bodega owner who looks after the aging
Cuban lady next door, pines for the gorgeous girl
working in the neighboring beauty salon and dreams
of winning the lottery and escaping to the shores of
his native Dominican Republic. Meanwhile, Nina,
a childhood friend of Usnavi’s, has returned to the
neighborhood from her first year at college with
surprising news for her parents, who have spent their
life savings on building a better life for their daughter.
Ultimately, Usnavi and the residents of the close-knit
neighborhood get a dose of what it means to be home.
CAST
Contains hot music by a new voice in theatre.
Recommended for audiences that enjoy that kind of thing.

In 1865 Samuel Clemens walked
onto a stage for the first time in San
Francisco. Because he was nervous
about his performance, he created
a poster with these words along the
bottom: “Doors open at 71 ⁄2, the
trouble will begin at 8.” That first
lecture (or stand-up comedy show)
was the beginning of lifelong
success for the performer known
as Mark Twain.
To audition, prepare a song
(musical theatre preferred) and
dress for movement. Scripts can
be checked out at the Box Office
until Wednesday, June 7 ($10
deposit required).

Wendy Darling loves to tell stories to her brothers,
Michael and John. But when her father announces she
must move out of the nursery, Peter Pan comes to visit
the children and whisks them away to Neverland. Their
journey introduces them to the Lost Boys, Mermaids, Indians and even the infamous
pirate, Captain Hook! It’s Peter to the rescue when Wendy is taken captive by the
dreaded captain, who has his own sinister plans in mind for our hero.
CTA campers work to present scenes from Peter Pan, as well as a song with
choreography. Students bring their own lunch; snacks are provided. Camps are
eligible deductions for childcare credit.
