Come support Drama Kids International of Rochester in building the character and confidence of the children in our

skills in young people and teenagers ages 4-17 in school year classes, summer camps, and workshops.
Please have your child in costume at St. John Fisher College at the Rehearses Time, then invite family and friends to
come at the bolded Performs Time listed below. Dress Reh. is the Dress Rehearsal date, when your child will need to
wear/bring their costume (see next page) to their classroom location, and when Drama Kids International (DKI) will have
students rehearse with DKI provided props and costume elements. Each student is asked to donate a finger food treat (no
nut products please) towards the reception that follows each performance. Follow the yellow Drama Kids signs on
campus, proceeding to the handicapped accessible, air conditioned Basil Auditorium. For more information, please

2016 Drama Kids Spring Costuming
Drama Kids encourages students and families to get creative and pull together their own costuming based the suggestions below. There is no
need to go out and buy a costume. You likely can find everything you need in a closet in your own home, or in a second hand shop.
The Grasshopper & the Ants!
Join our fun family of hardworking ants as they go marching one by one to store food for the winter ! Will the ants ever convince the
vivacious, Grasshopper to work? Based on Aesop's beloved fable, this original script is full of funny characters, songs, colorful props.
Costume Suggestions: Ants and Grasshopper(s) should wear all black and sturdy shoes (no flip flops, no crocs). Headwear for Ants and
Grasshopper(s) will be provided by Drama Kids. Grasshopper should bring a plain green t-shirt that can be put on over black outfit.
The Cleanest Town in Texas!
Nestled away in Abilene Texas, the Saloon and the visitors have become the talk of the town. Will lawlessness rule or can order be restored?
Costume Suggestions: Cowboys should wear jeans or dark pants and shirts (plaid, check, plain) with bandana and/or vest. Girls can be dressed as
cowgirls or old style clothing: long skirts and blouses, sashes and big bows at the back. Hair must be pulled back, ponytails, braided, bun, etc. Drama
Kids will provide a dress/es for the southern girls who arrive via stagecoach; i.e. Lulubelle and/or Annabelle. The dresses will slip over a pair of
shorts and shirt that the student(s) will wear underneath the dress. Drama Kids will provide headbands to dancers. Bartenders/waiters should wear
black or dark pants and a white shirt, and Drama Kids will provide white aprons.
Murder at Mornington Manor!
At the formal birthday party of the year at the Mornington Manor Mansion, …someone dies. Use your deductive reasoning to find out who’s
done it.
Costume Suggestions: Set in the 1920s, girl party attendees should wear semi-formal long or knee length dresses, or long skirts and blouses. Boy
party attendees should wear dark pants, shirt, and tie (jacket optional). Waiters/Waitresses should wear black or dark pants and a white shirt, and
Drama Kids will provide white aprons.
