For the Macromolecules Lab write-up, you are only writing the data and conclusions sections. You
should have:





A data table for activities A and B that indicates the qualitative results for both the Benedict’s
and iodine tests. Include your results from your negative control (water).
A data table for activity C: Hydrolysis of Carbohydrates
o Data table should include results from sucrose and starch hydrolysis and can look
identical to table 3.1 in lab manual
o Or two separate data tables, one for sucrose and one for starch, can be used
A discussion of the results. Put data table information into words.
Conclusion
o Was the hypothesis supported. Be sure to restate it and whether or not it was
supported by your data. Cite specific examples from your data that provide evidence
for whether or not it is supported.
The guidelines presented here are specific information that should be included in the report. Be
certain to refer to the Lab Report Guidelines sheet distributed at the beginning of the year to
ensure all points will be earned. (i.e. you will lose points for neglecting to label your data tables
and give them titles)
