prevent injury. In consideration of my child’s being permitted to participate in the 2016 Junior Conference, I personally and
on behalf of my child, hereby release the Knights of Peter Claver, Inc. their volunteers, the coordinators and Chaperones
from any liability for injuries or damages arising or resulting from participation in the 2016 Junior District Conference and/or
transportation to and from the activity. In the event that I cannot be reached; I hereby grant permission for my son/daughter
to be evaluated, diagnosed, treated and/or medicated in accordance with standard medical practice by licensed medical
personnel.
My child agrees to abide by all rules and regulations as outlined in the Knights of Peter Claver, Junior Knight/Junior
Daughter Code of Behavior. I understand that Knights of Peter Claver, will not be held liable if my child fails to cooperate

Each branch and court will be responsible for making juniors, chaperones and others aware of the
rules and regulations (Code of Ethics), and the following Dress Code:
Jr. Daughters’ Dress Code
1. Thursday Attire- Casual
Fitness Night• Jeans, Sweat pants, comfortable pants
• Knee length shorts
• Conference T-Shirt
• Sneakers, Tennis Shoes (no sandles)
2. Friday/Saturday Meeting Attire:
a. Dress or skirt ( just above the knee);
b. Shoulders, back or midriff should be covered at
all times;
c. Pant/skirt suit (No shorts or jeans of any kind)
d. Dress shoes (No sneakers or tennis shoes); and
e. Stockings/socks are optional.
3. Talent Show/Dance Attire:
a. Jeans or pants (capris)
b. Dress/skirt (dress/blouse must have straps and
midriff should be covered at all times; if you
have no straps, then you must wear a jacket for
the entire length of the event);
c. Dress/Skirt should not have splits;
d. No cut-offs or shorts; and
e. No tank tops.
4. Saturday Banquet Attire:
a. Formal, Semi-formal, or Dressy Dress

2016 Code of Ethics
1.
Juniors and chaperones are to wear their conference badges at all times.
2.
All Juniors are expected to be present at all meetings and activities.
3.
All curfews must be followed. All juniors should be in their rooms immediately after the close of all
evening events.
4.
Adult chaperones will accompany juniors at all times. If possible, chaperones should be members of the
Knights of Peter Claver / Ladies Auxiliary Senior Division. The branch / court should provide adequate
adult chaperones for the entire conference. There should be at least (1) chaperone per (3) Juniors.
5.
Alcohol, cigarettes, marijuana, or other illegal drugs are not permitted at the conference. If you
are caught in or around the usage of these drugs, your parents will be called to remove you from
the conference premises. Special permission will be granted for Juniors taking special medication
and this should be noted on the “Travel / Medical Release” form.
6.
Radios should be left at home because loud music is not allowed. Headphones will be allowed, but will
not be the responsibility of the hotel or KPC. All valuables should be left at home or locked up in the
hotel safe. KPC will not be responsible for any lost or stolen valuables.
7.
Juniors are not allowed to leave the hotel premises, unless accompanied by an adult chaperone (Knights
of Peter Claver Sr. Division member over 21 years of age )
8.
During the day, in cases of co-visitation (committee meetings), your room door must remain open at all
times. There should be NO other instances in which the room door should be closed. Co-visitation can
only occur in the presence of the commander/counselor or the assistant commander/counselor.
9.
Juniors should use a low, respectful voice/tone at all times (no loud talking or outbursts).
10.
There should be no running and yelling and no playing in the lobby, hall between floors, or on the
elevators. Respect for hotel guests must be given.
11.
Respect should be given to all commanders, counselors, chaperones, assistant commander / counselor,
and all senior members of Knights of Peter Claver, Hotel Staff and peers.
12.
Juniors are expected to conduct themselves accordingly at all times in a manner that will be a credit to the
organization. Good manners and proper attire will be expected.
13.
Juniors caught damaging hotel property will have to pay any financial cost assessed by the hotel.
14.
All adult chaperones are expected to conduct themselves in the proper manner that would display the fine
character of our organization.
15.
Conduct not adhering to the stated rules of the Conference will be investigated and a decision will be
made as to the proper action that will be taken.
16.
Swimming will not be permitted at any time during the conference.
17.
The Code of Ethics (Rules and Regulations) will be binding on all Delegates, Chaperones, Commanders,
Counselors and senior members attending the Convention.

**The average age of all members of a group will be calculated to determine age
placement.
An official timekeeper will be on site to ensure that each act performs within set time limits.
This person may be a member of the organization. All acts are limited to 3 minutes (except the
steppers will be allowed 4 minutes). Any act exceeding this time frame will be terminated
and assessed an automatic 15-point deduction. We suggest that all acts practice to last no
longer than 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

• Profane Language (cursing, innuendo, etc.)
• Improper dancing (freaky, erotic, etc.)
• Obscene lyrics (gangster rap, degrading subject matter)
• Improper Attire: No obscene art or letter or clothing

6. Coaches, trainers, or help from the outside may not perform on stage and should not be a
part of the act on the night of the talent show.

8. Poetry and Dramatic Interpretation must be at least a minute and not more than 2 minutes. Acts
less than a minute will be disqualified. Please see definition of Poetry and Dramatic
Interpretation under the definition section.

CHECK-IN
1. Check-in will start one hour before the competition (8:00 p.m.) and will end 60 minutes after the
start of the contest (9:00 p.m.).
2. Participants should enter the designated ballroom at least 15 minutes before the start of the talent
show.
NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS: Winners will be announced and awarded at the conference
Banquet.
