again in the spring. The class party for Mr. Christman's class will be in the spring when Rita's
reopens.
Decorating Committee: Suzanna Kline reported that Thanksgiving decorations will go up
Nov. 1 (Tuesday) at 6:00pm. Halloween decorations will be coming down at that time.
Box Tops: Mary Templin and Jill Myers reported that Box Top collection is going well. There is
a display on the bulletin board in the hallway. Mrs. Meal's class has over 1,000 Box Tops so
far. There will be a contest for Box Tops at the Boo Fest. The first group of Box Tops will be
submitted in October. A collection sheet has been passed out to students and is available
on PTA's website as well.
Pens/Pencils: Michelle Painter presented an idea to purchase extra pencils for teachers to
hand out as needed. Pens could also be purchased. Both would have "Willow Creek"
imprinted on them. Pencils are $0.21 and pens are $0.24 each, when buying in 1,000
increments. It was suggested to look for cheaper pencils/pens without the imprint. Motion
was made to allow Michelle to purchase 1,000 pencils at less than $0.21 a piece. Christine
Sadler motioned, April Garrett 2nd. Michelle Painter approved. Ralph Touch motioned to
give Michelle $250 for purchases. April Garrett 2nd.

Christine Sadler motioned to approve the grants, Mary Templin 2nd the motion. Michelle
Painter approved.
National Education Week: Carol Cox presented ideas to celebrate NEW. A bulletin board
could be used as a space for teachers to place 2 pictures of themselves: one in grade
school and one current. Next, students could write "What I like best about school" and read
it on the announcements.
Artist in Residence: Ralph Touch reported the details on this idea. PTA will need to fund.
Currently we need to vote on cost: $3,000. The artist would come to WCE and interact with
students in art class. A mural would be created that is permanent on the walls in the
building. It would help fill the "blank" spaces at our new school. Ideas include Tiger and
cubs, possible office area that is blank, Mosaic in which all students add a tile to the mural.
Mary Templin motioned to approve, Jenn Manmiller 2nd the motion. Michelle Painter
approved.
Approval of New Budget with Additions and Subtractions from Last Month's Meeting: Jill

prepare the taxes in-house. Artist will be added under "Charitable Expenses." Mary Templin

18, but the Scholastic Book Fair and Santa Shop is in session at that time. The Brain Show is
rescheduled for December 9, 2011. There will also be a Family Fun Night along with the two

Ribbon Week: stickers, bracelets, pencils and lollipops.

Friday, November 18, 2011. All items will be $1.50. Money will be collected at the door for
tickets. An area will be set up outside of the shop for gift wrapping. Generic labels will be
made ahead of time (To: Mom/ To: Dad...). Holiday Lane will be set up in the Cafeteria. This
is for parents to shop/sell vendor items (Avon, Tupperware...). All vendors are asked to give
10% of profit to PTA for using the space. A snack shop with hot chocolate, coffee, and
desserts will be available too. Pizza fundraiser will be given a designated area for pick up as
well. We will need the building from 5-9pm.
Other: Mary Templin reported: Health room donations are going well. Chick Filet could be a
possible Dine and Donate fundraiser in the fall or winter. Applebee's fundraiser could be
held in February.
A Word from Our Principal: Mrs. Koehler would like to get Homeroom Coordinators to
