What are mint (*) and CTO (◉) stamps? A mint stamp is one issued by the government printing office with full
Gocccc7
original gum, unhinged and not cancelled. A CTO (cancelled to order) stamp is an unaffixed stamp that has been
cancelled by a postal authority to prevent its reuse.
What is a Marginal Inscription (MI)? The MI consists normally of the United Nations emblem and an appropriate text
in four positions (A, B, C, D) on each sheet. Customers may order blocks of stamps from a specific corner of the sheet to
maintain a consistent collection. A – upper left corner, B – upper right corner, C – lower left corner, D – lower right
corner. Available only with a minimum order of block of 4, 6 or 10 stamps.
What are First Day Covers (FDC)? They are produced for each new stamp issue. For the three offices, there is one
‘official’ first day cover designed for each new issue. The covers, bearing the new stamps and the first day cancellations,
are available on the day of the stamp issue in some or all of the following options:
