It’s finally Spring!
With the warmer weather knocking
at our doors and flowers starting to bloom, it’s a great time to
feel rejuvenated and make plans for your next great vacation!
I just returned from an incredible week in Bordeaux, France with
Viking River Cruises and had the opportunity to preview their

Repositioning Cruises Offer Great Value!

ust as Spring and Fall are transitional seasons for many of
us in the Midwest/Northeast, many cruise ships reposition
to different regions seasonally as well. It makes sense to
find the majority of the popular ships sailing in the warm waters
of the Caribbean during the coldest months of the year. But, as
Spring approaches, many of these vessels will begin to migrate
to other sought-after regions to sail for the summer months,
such as Alaska, Europe, Bermuda, Canada & New England and
beyond. Then, again when the weather changes in that area,
they will move once again. When ships ‘reposition’ from one
destination to another there is often great value to be found!
Repositioning sailings vary in length and typically offer unique
itineraries, with relaxing days at sea, uncommon ports of call
and provide loads of enjoyment to guests! During multiple days
at sea, in between stops, guests may enjoy enhanced onboard
activities, including guest lecturers who hail from the arts,
sciences, politics and news media. Some itineraries may offer
culinary and wine appreciation seminars, computer classes or
other enrichment programming. It is a great time to relax,
meet new people, read some good books and enjoy a relaxed
or active lifestyle.
Cruising With Norwegian Cruise Line.
Let’s take a look at the Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) fleet.
As of 2018, NCL will have 15 ships in their family. Of those,
one is stationed year-round in Hawaii doing round-trip cruises
from Honolulu, while several other ships offer the Caribbean
and/or Bermuda market year-round. However, a number of
their ships will reposition throughout the year to fulfill different
interests. For instance, Norwegian Breakaway, will depart on
April 15, 2018 from New York City to Southampton, London on
a 12 night voyage with 7 days at sea and stops in Azores, Ireland,
England and France along
the way—with prices
from $999 per person!
Then, she will sail a popular Baltic cruise itinerary
until she comes back
again October 2, 2018
from Copenhagen to
New York City on a 14day voyage from just
$1009 per person.
When the Norwegian Epic returns from Europe on November 5,
2017 she sails from Barcelona, Spain to Port Canaveral on a 13
night voyage from $699 per person. Frequently, ships will transit
the Panama Canal between the Caribbean and the Pacific Ocean
Panama Canal
to head north to Alaska during May through September.
For example, Norwegian Pearl comes back to the Caribbean
on a 14 day sailing October 7, 2017 from Los Angeles to New
Orleans at a price of $1400 per person and heads back to
Alaska again on April 8, 2018 from New Orleans to Seattle
on a 21 day cruise from just $1499 per person!
As you can see, these repositioning cruise prices represent
terrific value—you can hardly stay home for this price!

Repositioning Cruises Offer Great Value!

ust as Spring and Fall are transitional seasons for many of
us in the Midwest/Northeast, many cruise ships reposition
to different regions seasonally as well. It makes sense to
find the majority of the popular ships sailing in the warm waters
of the Caribbean during the coldest months of the year. But, as
Spring approaches, many of these vessels will begin to migrate
to other sought-after regions to sail for the summer months,
such as Alaska, Europe, Bermuda, Canada & New England and
beyond. Then, again when the weather changes in that area,
they will move once again. When ships ‘reposition’ from one
destination to another there is often great value to be found!
Repositioning sailings vary in length and typically offer unique
itineraries, with relaxing days at sea, uncommon ports of call
and provide loads of enjoyment to guests! During multiple days
at sea, in between stops, guests may enjoy enhanced onboard
activities, including guest lecturers who hail from the arts,
sciences, politics and news media. Some itineraries may offer
culinary and wine appreciation seminars, computer classes or
other enrichment programming. It is a great time to relax,
meet new people, read some good books and enjoy a relaxed
or active lifestyle.
Cruising With Norwegian Cruise Line.
Let’s take a look at the Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) fleet.
As of 2018, NCL will have 15 ships in their family. Of those,
one is stationed year-round in Hawaii doing round-trip cruises
from Honolulu, while several other ships offer the Caribbean
and/or Bermuda market year-round. However, a number of
their ships will reposition throughout the year to fulfill different
interests. For instance, Norwegian Breakaway, will depart on
April 15, 2018 from New York City to Southampton, London on
a 12 night voyage with 7 days at sea and stops in Azores, Ireland,
England and France along
the way—with prices
from $999 per person!
Then, she will sail a popular Baltic cruise itinerary
until she comes back
again October 2, 2018
from Copenhagen to
New York City on a 14day voyage from just
$1009 per person.
When the Norwegian Epic returns from Europe on November 5,
2017 she sails from Barcelona, Spain to Port Canaveral on a 13
night voyage from $699 per person. Frequently, ships will transit
the Panama Canal between the Caribbean and the Pacific Ocean
Panama Canal
to head north to Alaska during May through September.
For example, Norwegian Pearl comes back to the Caribbean
on a 14 day sailing October 7, 2017 from Los Angeles to New
Orleans at a price of $1400 per person and heads back to
Alaska again on April 8, 2018 from New Orleans to Seattle
on a 21 day cruise from just $1499 per person!
As you can see, these repositioning cruise prices represent
terrific value—you can hardly stay home for this price!
