For many Old Boys who had studied at our campus at Bras Basah Road, the Homecoming

Two Homecoming
Dinners were held in 20 II, attended by 312 Old Boys from the Sec 4 classes
of 1991 to 1998. (In total, 2,012 Old Boys from Sec 4 classes of 1968 to 1998 have attended the

the generosity of
all Old Boys in supporting our Alma Mater. You have been a great source of encouragement to
the school's teachers, a role model for the current students, and you have hel ped SJ I to sustain its

We were unfortunately
unable to organize the dinners for all the cohorts due to the limited period
of three years.

In April 20 II, we were invited by N-Parks to hold a concert at the Singapore
Botanic Gardens.
Undaunted by the challenge that this will be our first public event, Exco Member
Gerard Hooi promptly accepted the invitation and his requests to current students and Old Boys
to perform at this concert were well received.
After 5 months of hard work, we presented a 2-hour performance to a packed audience
numbering more than 1,500 at the Palm Valley. About 200 students from the 4 SJI schools (S1I,

their enthusiasm was clearly evident. The matches were tightly contested, with several brilliantly

The success of the SJIOBA
is underpinned
by the strength of its membership
and its financial
resources. Together with support from a strong Secretariat, we strive to continue to communicate
7
and provide the platform
for Josephians
to connect
with each other,
including
the range of
activities to cater to the growing Alumni.
The SJIOBA was formalised
17 years ago. Membership
figures have been growing rapidly since
then. In the past year alone we have gained 191 Life members,
125 Ordinary
members and 405
Associate members from the graduating class of 20 II.
Yet, this is a merely small percentage of the 15,000 odd who have graduated
50 years. The creation and maintenance
from SJI in the last
of an alumni database is a key task and we will initiate a
"missing souls" project to locate and connect with them.
The membership
team will strive to be present at all SJIOBA events. We seek your support to
take SJIOBA to the next level and to provide an even stronger
foundation
for its future. Your
contribution will mean a lot in the furtherance of the SJIOBA mission and objectives.
