1. Introduction
This document is a configuration manual for the installation of the Pulse Secure software and for the usage
of the All IP VPN solution on a Windows machine. In this document there will be a concise explanation for
the installation and operation of the Pulse Secure software.
Pulse Secure is a VPN client that can establish a secure connection between your computer and a Juniper
security product. With an active Pulse Secure connection the communication between your system and the
company's network will be encrypted, third parties won't be able to influence or monitor this traffic.

2. Installing Pulse Secure
Please uninstall any previous versions of Pulse Secure that might already be installed before proceeding.
The latest version of the Pulse Secure software is available at the following download locations:
https://www.galaxy.nl/download
Please take note of the Windows version you are using, and download the correct version of Pulse Secure.
You can check this by right-clicking on "My computer" or "Computer" in the Startmenu and selecting
"properties".
After downloading and opening this file, you will see the following screen:
Please click "Next" and confirm the next screen by selecting "Install"
Depending on your computer's configuration, you might get a security related popup asking to allow the
installation like the one displayed below;
Please allow the installation by clicking "Yes".

The software will now be installed on your system:
After a few minutes the installation is complete:
After clicking "Finish", the following icon will appear in your system tray:
Pulse Secure can be made visible by double clicking this icon or by right clicking it and selecting
"Open Pulse Secure":

3. Configuring and usage of Pulse Secure
The software needs to be configured before it can establish a secure connection to your network
environment. This can be done by clicking the "+" sign in the screen depicted below.
Please configure the following screen with the settings for your secure networking environment.
Type: UAC or SSL-VPN
Name: The name that will displayed for this specific connection in the main menu, this is not essential for
the VPN's functionality.
Server URL: The server URL has been provided together with this document, it should be in the form of
"https://remote.allip.nl/", followed by the (shortened) company name.
Click "Add" to confirm these settings and add the connection to the list in the main menu.

The connection will now be visible in the main menu of Pulse Secure:
You can start connecting by clicking the "Connect" button.
To be able to connect, there are still some credentials needed, as shown below:
User Name: The username that was provided with your token.
Passcode: Fill in your pinnumber that was provided with your token or token-app, directly followed by the
6 digits that the token or token-app itself provides, for a total of 10 or 11 digits, depending on the length of
your pinnumber.
Click "Connect" to establish the VPN connection.

After a succesfull connection, the status of your connection will change to "Connected" and the button
"Connect" will change to "Disconnect"
In the system tray the Pulse Secure logo will also display the connection status:
An active Pulse Secure connection is comparable with a direct connection to your network environment, all
devices on the network are now available on their local addresses.
