Listed below are the specifications for purchase of the following waste hauling
equipment: Thirty (30) yard capacity open top cable hoist type rolloff containers.
The bath tub style containers will not be accepted; Standard square bottom design

Four yard capacity compaction units with fabricated hopper. Amount-4 units
Forty (40) yard capacity compactor compatible breakaway cable hoist waste
containers. Amount-5.
The contractor will be responsible for delivery to and installation of two
compaction units with containers to the Crisfield Transfer Station and two
complete units to the Mt. Vernon Transfer Station. All labor, supplies, and
equipment necessary to complete the installation of the compaction units will be
the responsibility of the contractor. All open containers will be delivered to either
to the Somerset County Landfill or the Somerset County Roads Department.
Service for the compaction units must be available within a 100 mile radius of the
Crisfield Transfer Station.

The waste containers shall be compatible with the compactor units supplied. The
boxes will be designed to break away from the stationary compaction unit.
The container will be supplied with rubber gasket material to prevent leakage
between the compactor and the waste container box opening.
The container will be constructed for a cable hoist roll-off system compatible with
the recycling containers currently owned by the County.

The following are the specifications for 4 four cubic yard compaction units to be
delivered to and installed at the following locations: Crisfield Transfer Station-Rt.
413, Crisfield, Md., Mt. Vernon Transfer Station, Mt. Vernon Road, Princess
Anne, Md. Each transfer station will receive 2 units. The units will be stationary
and only the 40 yard container will be removed for disposal of the waste.
The bid will include installation of the compactors, electrical supplies, labor, and
all other parts necessary to complete the project. The equipment supplier will
provide 8 hours of Operation and Maintenance Training for Solid Waste and
Maintenance personnel.

All equipment must be available for installation by July 1, 2014. Payment for
equipment will be made on or after July 1, 2014.
The County is currently contracting for waste hauling services. Each of the two
transfer stations has two compaction units in place. The County will request that
the current contractor remove one compaction unit at a time. Installation of each
new compactor with container must occur within one (1) week after notification
by the County to proceed.
The contractor must be able to provide technical or mechanical onsite service to
each of the two transfer station sites from within a 100 mile radius.
