Day 1
Get to know your fellow travelers today as we board
our deluxe motor coach and travel south through
Illinois, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee and Mississippi. We stop for lunch on our own at Lambert’s
Café, “home of the throwed rolls”, in Sikeston, MO.
Later in the afternoon we arrive in Memphis, TN and
stop on historic Beale Street, where we scatter on own
to enjoy some free time to stroll and browse in this
iconic area. Our accommodations await us this evening at the Drury Inn & Suites in Horn Lake, MS.
Day 2
After an included hot breakfast at the hotel this
morning, we continue our adventure on toward
New Orleans, stopping en route for lunch on our
own. We arrive mid-afternoon at the beautiful Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel, located just across the street
from the beginning of Bourbon Street and the French
Quarter. After checking in at the hotel, the rest of
the afternoon and evening is free to explore Bourbon
Street and the French Quarter area, where you can
enjoy the sights, sounds, music, and Cajun food at
your own pace and leisure. Perhaps you will enjoy a
cup of coffee and beignets at Café Du Monde or dinner at The Court of Two Sisters, the world-famous,
largest historic dining courtyard in the French Quarter. Your Presley Tour Director will have several dining suggestions for the evening.
Included Meal: Breakfast
Day 3
We enjoy an included breakfast this morning before
meeting our local guide for a city tour of “The Big
Easy”. We learn that there’s more to New Orleans
than the French Quarter. Travel down world famous
Mardi Gras Canal Street. Skirt the boundaries of
the Quarter and listen to the history of the early city.
Pass Jackson Square, the French Market, and Congo
Square. See and hear the stories of the red light district, where Dixieland Jazz got its start. See original plantation homes of today. Walk with our guide
through one of New Orleans famous cemeteries and
hear the story of the unique above ground burial.
Marvel as you see 100 year-old oak trees in City Park.
Drive along Lake Pontchartrain, the 4th largest lake
in the USA, and hear about how New Orleans is built
below sea level. Hear about hurricane Katrina and
see some of the damage that remains today. See the
avenues of streetcars, millionaires and churches. See
the Garden District with its fabulous mansions. See
the skyline and learn about the Louisiana Superdome
Stadium. Later, we make our way to Oak Alley Plantation. Built in 1839, this National Historic Landmark is famous for its one-quarter-mile alley of 28
live oak trees. Lunch will be included on the plantation grounds. Later in the afternoon, we have free
time to explore the city on our own before we gather
back at the hotel to board our motor coach for the
short trip down Canal Street to the dock, where we
board the Paddlewheeler Creole Queen for an evening cruise into the night filled with the sounds of a
lively jazz band, while we enjoy a lavish Creole buffet
in an elegantly appointed dining room. This experience is pure New Orleans, pure pleasure.
Included Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
Day 4
Breakfast is included this morning before we check
out of the hotel and drive the short distance to the
National World War 2 Museum. Trip Advisor ranks
the museum as the #1 attraction in New Orleans.
The museum tells the story of the American Experience in the war that changed the world---why it
was fought, how it was won, and what it means today. Lunch is on your own at the museum before
we depart New Orleans and travel to the Drury Inn
& Suites in Horn Lake, MS, where our rooms are
reserved for this evening.
Included Meal: Breakfast
Day 5
We enjoy a hot breakfast at the hotel and then drive
to Graceland on Elvis Presley Boulevard in Memphis,
TN. At Graceland we experience the life, times, and
aftermath of the iconic legend of Rock & Roll, Elvis Presley. We see the mansion where Presley lived
and entertained family and friends, as well as, his
gravesite and that of his parents. Walk through his
two custom airplanes and see his famous cars in the
automobile museum. Experience Elvis concerts in
Las Vegas and Hawaii, his movies and much more.
We have lunch on our own at Graceland before departing for home. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride
home as the miles quickly fly by. We have time to
reflect with fellow travelers on the new memories and
friendships that have been created on our Springtime
Adventure to New Orleans.
